Sycamore Cottage, 6 Main Road Shutlanger | | | NN12 7RU SYCAMORE COTTAGE

KEY FEATURES

Sycamore Cottage is a substantial stone built detached house located on the edge of this sought after village of Shutlanger. The house is deceptively spacious and retains much charm and character with period features including beams, and an open inglenook fireplace combined with modern additions such as double glazing. The house is approached from a gravelled driveway with off street parking with access to the integral garage and car port. The south facing gardens are a sheer delight with panoramic views over open countryside towards Stowe Park woods.

The main entrance is via the open fronted car port which opens into a superb contemporary style conservatory/sun room which is really welcoming and takes in the open views. Doors open to the reception room which has a lovely cosy feel with an open Inglenook fireplace, beams and wood floor, stairs lead up to a large library/study which has a deep bay window again with open views and the room is fully shelved with bespoke fittings and a high ceiling with exposed beams. From the main reception is a further sitting room/ snug area with stairs to the first floor. The dining room is another bright room with beams and leads to the kitchen which is fitted with a range of country style units with a central preparation island, range cooker and access to the sun room and garden, there is also a separate utility room.

SELLER INSIGHT

We were looking for a property in the local area that would be a fabulous party house as we like to entertain. We wanted somewhere with plenty of room for parties and day-to-day family life, so we were extremely excited when we saw Sycamore Cottage for the first time as it had all of the space we were looking for and more,” recall the current owners.

“The garden was another huge attraction as it is large and fully enclosed, so our daughter has been able to safely play outdoors. There’s room for her trampoline and play set, so it’s a very active space that is perfect for children. In the summer, we open the doors from the sunroom to create a large area that is ideal when we’re entertaining as the adults can eat and drink inside, whilst the children run around outside. We celebrated my 40th surprise birthday party in the garden along with more than 80 guests, marquees and a band, as well as plenty of food and drink stalls.”

“The location is fabulous. It’s a very pretty area that is surrounded by scenic walks. We’re always out and about walking our little dog by the canal side in as well as along the public footpaths around Towcester racecourse. There’s an active village hall and a very popular pub which serves lovely food, so I’d recommend booking well in advance! Towcester is only a few miles away and has a choice of supermarkets including Waitrose and Tesco, as well as independent shops, markets and local events.”

“Sycamore Cottage is a home for all seasons. We love to spend time in the sunroom which really comes into its own in the summer as we can open the doors and look out into the garden and watch our little one run around. The sheep are a lovely sight too! In the winter, the lounge is the perfect retreat as it’s always warm and cosy. The master bedroom is another favourite as it’s very large and has beautiful views over the garden. Sycamore Cottage has been a lovely, family home for us where we’ve enjoyed the space and the garden. It’s a perfect location too as it’s always very quiet and peaceful,” conclude the current owners.*
