Overview
Elite Support for Apache CouchDB helps organizations receive enterprise-class support for the open source Apache CouchDB database. Support subscriptions for Apache CouchDB can be purchased on a yearly basis and are priced based on the number of virtual processor core units in the Apache CouchDB database nodes.
Cloudant is built upon Apache CouchDB and maintains API compatibility for core features. Developers can use the Cloudant and Apache CouchDB database ecosystem to deliver low-latency, high-performance, and scalable applications. The common replication protocol between these technologies enables seamless hybrid- cloud and multi-cloud architectures. Organizations can get a consolidated support experience that covers full hybrid cloud deployments, using Apache CouchDB on- premises, or in any cloud from any provider alongside Cloudant.

• Technical support for Apache CouchDB open source database 24 hours a day, 7 days a week • Maintenance fixes and updates
You can purchase Elite Support for Apache CouchDB as an annual subscription through Passport Advantage(R) or Passport Advantage Express(R). This renewable subscription support offering is priced per virtual processor core (VPC) unit, and delivers problem resolution support and maintenance protection to help reduce the risk, time to market, and costs required to deploy any applications powered by Apache CouchDB.
Apache CouchDB is open source software available from the Apache CouchDB website. It is available for download, installation, and use at no charge.

Virtual Processor Core is a unit of measure by which the Program can be licensed. A Physical Server is a physical computer that is comprised of processing units,

Where racks, blade enclosures, or other similar equipment is being employed, each separable physical device (for example, a blade or a rack-mounted device) that has the required components is considered itself a separate Physical Server. A Virtual Server is either a virtual computer created by partitioning the resources available to a Physical Server or an unpartitioned Physical Server. A Processor Core (commonly called a processor or CPU) is a functional unit within a computing device that interprets and executes instructions. A Processor Core consists of at least an instruction control unit, and one or more arithmetic or logic unit. A Virtual Processor Core is a Processor Core in an unpartitioned Physical Server, or a virtual core assigned to a Virtual Server. Licensee must obtain entitlement for each Virtual Processor Core made available to the Program.
Virtual Server
Virtual Server is a unit of measure by which the Program can be licensed. A server is a physical computer that is comprised of processing units, memory, and input/output capabilities and that executes requested procedures, commands or applications for one or more users or client devices. Where racks, blade enclosures, or other similar equipment is being employed, each separable physical device (for example, a blade or a rack-mounted device) that has the required components is considered itself a separate server. A virtual server is either a virtual computer created by partitioning the resources available to a physical server or an unpartitioned physical server. Licensee must obtain Virtual Server entitlements for each Virtual Server made available to the Program, regardless of the number of processor cores in the Virtual Server or the number of copies of the Program on the Virtual Server.
