In late January, 2015, I-4 begins a 6-year, 21-mile reconstruction project between SR 434 in Longwood and Kirkman Road. SunRail Alternative SunRail is Central Florida’s commuter rail line providing a convenient and enjoyable travel option for residents and visitors alike. The line currently features 12 convenient stations: • DeBary • Winter Park • Sanford • Florida Hospital Health Village • Lake Mary • LYNX Central Station • Longwood • Church Street • Altamonte Springs • Orlando Health/Amtrak • Maitland • Sand Lake Road

Phase 2 extensions, expected to open in 2017, will include five additional stations, extending service north to DeLand and south to Poinciana.

How To Ride Deltona SunRail features a Tap On/Tap Off technology to monitor rider ticket purchases. When you arrive at the station, Tap On by simply scanning your ticket or SunCard at one of three ticket validators located on each platform. Riders over age 65, between the ages of 7-17 and those with disabilities as certified by LYNX or Votran, can purchase Single-Day tickets and Travel Plans for 50% off. Children age 6 and under ride for free with a paying adult (limit 3).

Reloadable SunCards SunCards have a one-time cost of $5 and can carry one Travel Plan as well as hold a Prepaid Value.

Travel Plans – Travel Plans give you the freedom to ride on SunRail as many times as you want for 7, 30 or 365 consecutive calendar days after you first Tap On. These plans provide significant savings over a Single-Day ticket.

Prepaid Value – Similar to a debit card, your fare is deducted based on the distance traveled on your trip, and funds can be added to your card as often as needed. Passengers who purchase a SunCard with Prepaid Value also receive a 10% bonus when funds are loaded onto the card. Additional discounts for seniors, youth or the disabled do not apply.
