These materials offer researchers a lens into the often-difficult reintegration process that veterans undergo following their separation from the armed forces, as well as the overall effects of this process on their families and their communities. Researchers will find these materials useful for critical examinations of the social location of Latino servicemen and servicewomen within the context of a large metropolitan center and how this identity has evolved since 1942. Indeed, a collection of this caliber has wide application for studies on the overall condition of Latinos within the United States as well as on the lives and communities of California Latino veterans. Moreover, according to Kelly Lytle-Hernandez, professor of History at UCLA, this particular collection has much to offer scholars interested in studying local California politics, Latino veteran organizing, and gender dynamics in a traditionally male-centered context.

TECHNICAL APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY Reduction of black carbon and ozone precursors represents an important opportunity for furthering human development and mitigating climate change. Transport-related emissions of black carbon (BC) and tropospheric (ground level) ozone precursors are damaging to the environment, health, crop yields and climate. Globally, there are three primary societal benefits of mitigating black carbon and ozone: First, their mitigation would save millions of premature deaths and morbidity that result from both direct and indirect effects of these pollutants. Indoor air pollution was linked to 3.5 million premature deaths in 2010, and ambient air pollution to another 3.2 million.1 Second, it will protect billions of dollars worth of crops lost annually to air pollution damages.

Eisenhower From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower (/ˈaɪzәnˌhaʊ.әr/ EYEzәnHOWәr; October 14, 1890 – March 28, 1969) was an American politician and Army general who served as the 34th General of the Army President of the United States from 1953 until 1961. He was a fivestar general in the Dwight D. Eisenhower United States Army during World War II and served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe. He was responsible for planning and supervising the invasion of North Africa in Operation Torch in 1942–43 and the successful invasion of France and Germany in 1944–45 from the Western Front. Eisenhower was born in Denison, Texas, and raised in Kansas in a large family of mostly Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry by parents with a strong religious background.
