April/May 2019 Program Trekking and E-Bike/Bike Excursions Trekking: Puntone of Scarlino, Cala Violina. 9: 30 am: Meet with the guide at the loc. Puntone di Scarlino c / o Cala Felice Beach Club parking lot. The trekking excursion begins along a wide trail, immersed in the Mediterranean shrub, and continues with a gentle climb until you reach Poggio La Guardia (215 m above sea level) and Poggio Sentinella (216 mslm), with vast, breathtaking panoramic views of the coast and the islands of the Tuscan archipelago. From here the path begins to descend to Torre Civette (55 m asl) near the mouth of the Alma and continues along the ancient Cavalleggeri Road, which ran from North to South along the entire coast of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. This path leads to Cala Civetta, Cala Violina and Cala Martina, the final destination, to then return to the parked cars. The most interesting aspect of this itinerary is constituted by the breathtaking views that you can admire every time the generally shaded woods and characteristic, Mediterranean shrub open to unexpected, magnificent coastal landscapes. Dates: 4th and 18th May 2019 Discovering Maremma on 2 Wheels Tour (E-bike or bike) 9:00 am: Meet with the guide at the Baia Azzurra Camping Village loc. Rocchette, our departure point with the mtb e-bikes (or with personal mtb) in search of the Hermitage of Santa Petronilla. We will follow roads and trails that cross the hills between Rocchette and Punta Ala with panoramic views ranging from the Maremma Natural Park, and the Argentario, to the islands of the Tuscan archipelago until Piombino. We will continue cycling until we reach the Hermitage of Santa Petronilla, an ancient monastic complex within the protected area of the Bandite of Scarlino. On the way back, we will stop at the courtyard of the ancient Pian di Rocca farm. E-bike rental €. 25.00 (half day) - guide service (half day) €. 25.00 for person (min. 2 - max 10 people) Dates: 27 th April and 11th May 2019 The Etruscans of Vetulonia: the city, the necropolis, the port, and the museum. 9:30 am: Meet the guide in the town square in front of the archaeological museum and start the trekking excursion. Vetulonia is one of the 12 most important city-states of Etruria, which formed the so-called Dodecapoli, a powerful alliance of an economic, military and religious nature. Vetulonia experienced its maximum splendor and wealth around the IV century BC. It is believed that 25,000 people lived there, and that the wellbeing of the population was based on the mining establishments of the territory. We can still see the remains of Etruscan-Roman houses, the walls and sections of the paved roads of the Costa dei Lippi and Costa Murata archaeological sites. Of great importance is the necropolis with its extensive system of well-shaped tombs, a chamber, a ditch, cumulus and circular, like the tombs of the Fibula d'Oro, Diavolino 2, Pietrera and the Belvedere tomb. Finally, you can't miss the visit to the Isidoro Falchi Archaeological Civic Museum. Not only will you be hunters and archaeologists for a day, you will also have the opportunity to admire the amazing art of falconry! Morning Program: Arrive at our workshop at 9:30 am. Start of experimental activities: paleo- anthropology lesson - physics, chipping, firing, archery, excavation area, visit to the prehistoric village. 1:00 pm lunch at the Albori. After lunch, show and introduction to falconry.
