NAME UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA (UNAIR) CITY, COUNTRY , WEBSITE www.unair.ac.id ABOUT THE Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), located in Surabaya, was established UNIVERSITY on 10 November 1954. It currently has 14 faculties, and one school of Postgraduate, ranging from Health, Life, and Socio-Cultural Sciences. Its vision is to be an independent, innovative, and leading university at national and international levels, and to be the pioneer in the development of science, technology, humanities based on moral and religious values. UNAIR has approximately 37 thousand students in all degrees.

In 2014, UNAIR also received achievements as: 1) The 1st rank in the Citation Index in Asia; 2) The 127th of the Top 200 Asian University Ranking (ranked 3rd nationally) based on QS; 3) The 32nd in the South East Asia based on the Webometrics version.

UNAIR is a health promoting university. It is represented in several activities. In 2013, Ministry of Education and officially appointed Institute of Tropical Diseases of UNAIR as a Center of Research Excellence in the field of health and medicine. In addition, UNAIR also appointed as the leader for health cluster in Australia-Indonesia Center.

UNAIR has 21 Diploma programs, 34 Bachelor programs, 46 Master programs, and 13 Doctoral programs. UNAIR earns A qualification for Institutional Accreditation from Indonesian National Accreditation Board for Higher Education. There are six study programs which have been certified by AUN Quality Assurance (AUN-QA); Bachelor program of Medical Doctor Education, Chemistry, Biology, Law, Veterinary, and Pharmacy. In addition, the Faculty of Economic and Business has been accredited by The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for tomorrow, a 21st Century Organization (ABEST21).

ACTS is a system which regulates students in credit-earning and credit-transfer process based on learning outcomes and learning process explained in the content of curriculum. It aims to facilitate planning, implementation, assessment, recognition, and validation of the qualification, learning unit, and student mobility.

Study load describes the time needed by students to finish a learning FACT SHEET 2018-2019 activities (such as in class meetings, seminars, practical work, independent activity, examinations, etc.) needed to achieve the targeted learning outcomes. In comparison, European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) describe study load of one academic year related to its learning outcomes. In most ECTS cases, study load of each student ranges from 1500 to 1800 hours for one academic year. While in ACTS, study load of each student ranges from 1152 to 2304 hours for one academic year (12 to 24 ACTS per semester). Thus an ECTS is equal to 25-30 hours while an ACTS is equal to 48 hours.
