LHSC sponsored this survey to determine compliance with the state's Child Passenger Safety Law. The 2013 Child Restraint Survey in Louisiana followed a design prepared by Dr. Helmut Schneider. Dr. Schneider is the Ourso Family Distinguished Professor of Information Systems and Chairman of Information Systems and Decision Sciences at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Schneider design provided for data to be collected at specified locations throughout eight regions comprising the State of Louisiana. The 2013 survey was the 27th child restraint usage survey (statewide survey) conducted in Louisiana. This was the first time Preusser Research Group was responsible for the observational data collection.
