Periodicals by Title I think this is now the largest list of books and magazines in the world on Motor Vehicles. I think I maybe the only person trying to find and document every Book and Magazine on Motor Vehicles. This is a 70+ year trip for me all over the world. Some people have called this an obsession, I call it my passion. This has been a hobby for me since I was about 10 years old. I don’t work on it everyday. I don’t do this for money. I don't have any financial help. I have no books or magazines for sale or trade. I do depend on other Book and Magazine collectors for information on titles I don’t have. Do you know of a Book, Magazine, Newsletter or Newspaper not on my list?? Is my information up to date?? If not can you help bring it up to date?? I depend on WORD-OF-MOUTH advertising so please tell your friends and anyone else that you think would have an interest in collecting books and magazines on motor vehicles. I am giving my Book and Magazine Lists to Richard Carroll to publish on his web - site at www.21speedwayshop.com take a look.. All I am collecting now is any issue of a title. If you are the first to send me a copy of a magazine I don’t have I will thank you with a mention under the title. Because of two strokes and a back injury from falling down the stairs this is about all I can do now. It also keeps me from chasing fast women which I can't catch anymore. I want to thank the three ladies who have keep me alive Allison Mattila & Lydia Warner & Barbara McNaughton my health care prividers. I started publishing this list because Steve Kuk and I each had a list of magazines and we combined them. We both wondered when a magazine started, how often it was printed and when it died. I started printing this magazine list around 1980 with 883 titles by 1985 it had just over 1700 titles now it has over 10,500+ titles. I also have over 11.000+ book titles listed. I am looking for Automobile, Bus, Motorcycle & Truck Book, Magazine, Newsletter & Newspaper titles and addresses. I want this list to be the most comprehensive in the world. I can only do this with the help of others. Can you tell your readers about my effort?? Niels Jorgensen has sent me by far the most magazine titles and Gary Fisk has sent me the most magazines. These titles can come from Club, Commercial, Company & Industry from any Country in the world and in any language. The hardest type of publications to get information on are Club, Company & Industry the reason because you have to be member or employee. I want to thank the ladies at THREE CUPS COFFEE (Leah, Lindsey, Ashley, Paula, Melissa, Carly & Nancy) in Astoria, Oregon For putting up with me for 2 or 3 hours a day on the internet. I also want to thank Matt Love for the article he did on me in the Coast Weekend section of 4 Sep. 2014 The Daily Astorian, he also published a book called "A Nice Piece Of Astoria" " A Narrative Guide" published by Nestucca Spit Press with a chapter on me called "Second Day in town". These fellows have helped with one or more of my lists. • Luton Motor Town
Contents Luton: Motor Town Luton: Motor Town 1910 - 2000 The resources in this pack focus on the major changes in the town during the 20th century. For the majority of the period Luton was a prosperous, optimistic town that encouraged forward-looking local planning and policy. The Straw Hat Boom Town, seeing problems ahead in its dependence on a single industry, worked hard to attract and develop new industries. In doing so it fuelled a growth that changed the town forever. However Luton became almost as dependant on the motor industry as it had been on the hat industry. The aim of this pack is to provide a core of resources that will help pupils studying local history at KS2 and 3 form a picture of Luton at this time. The primary evidence included in this pack may photocopied for educational use. If you wish to reproduce any part of this park for any other purpose then you should first contact Luton Museum Service for permission. Please remember these sheets are for educational use only. Normal copyright protection applies. Contents 1: Teachers’ Notes Suggestions for using these resources Bibliography 2: The Town and its buildings 20th Century Descriptions A collection of references to the town from a variety of sources. They illustrate how the town has been viewed by others during this period. Luton Council on Luton The following are quotes from the Year Book and Official Guides produced by Luton Council over the years. They offer an idea of how the Luton Council saw the town it was running.

INDEX OF PERSONS page 300 INDEX OF ARTISTS page 306 PREFACE HE first and only catalogue of the collection of medals formed by Gustave Dreyfus appeared in I93 I. Its author was Sir George Hill, who had studied the collection in depth when it was still T in Dreyfus' hands in the Boulevard Malesherbes in Paris. In a prefatory note, Hill observed that 'keenly as Gustave Dreyfus appreciated all his beautiful things, he had a particularly soft place in his heart for the Italian medals, and ... he would have agreed with the German critic who declared that the medallic art was par excellence the art of the Renaissance, the expression of the quintessence of the spirit of that age.' The preface continues with the tribute: 'His was perhaps the finest collection that has ever been in the hands of a private collector - the "perhaps" might be omitted, but that it is difficult to range the great collections in a true perspective.' Thanks to the Kress Foundation, the Dreyfus collection of medals was not dispersed, like so many other medallic collections, but is preserved intact in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, where it bears out Hill's claim to be regarded as the finest private collection of medals ever to have been formed.
