Introduction

Far Cry Primal is set in the days when fire was the hip new thing on the block (of stone). Without rocket launchers and technology to save you, unlike previous entries in the series you’re going to have to do things a bit differently in 10,000 B.C. However, Far Cry Primal has its own big guns disguised as animal companions, and it also includes the franchise’s with most expansive crafting system, which is up to date. Learn to gather the right resources, and you need to always have a spear or an arrow to take out all your enemies. With a big map of animals to tame and outposts to conquer, it can be hard figuring out what the best course of action is — especially during the game’s first several hours. Never ever fear! No matter if you’re a Far Cry veteran or new to the series, our Far Cry Primal beginner’s guide is here and will help to assists in telling you the best ways for you to spend your time, materials and experience points (and to also keep you from going ape).

Getting Started

Use Your Head

In Far Cry Primal, you will discover sooner or later that there is not a single guns blazing tactic that is available. As Takkar, you will only carry a bow and arrow, a club and also spear, so you would know there aren’t many options for defeating enemies that is in rapid succession. One the best way to fight in Far Cry Primal is to fight smartly, and in the beginning smart is synonymous with quietly.

You will later learn that in the brutal, prehistoric world of Oros that stealth is going to be your best bet throughout. Even as you slowly progress and acquire additional skills, it’s still a good idea to sneak up on your enemies whenever possible to get a good vantage point. If for any reason at all you may make a mistake when trying a stealth take down, you can always break the line of sight with enemies in order for you to nab another shot. Don’t you ever be afraid to try again if you can get into the position, once you’re able to nicely incorporate your owl companion, you’ll then be able to tag any enemies you want to launch an attack unto as well, which is absolutely essential for stealth attacks. Once you think that you have acquire the Beast Rider skills, you will then be able to safely climb atop a woolly mammoth, saber-toothed tiger or bear — all of which allow you significant advantages over enemies with no beasts to rely on. These tips apply only to hunting wild animals as well.

Take cover, and aim for the head

If you’ve ever come across or even spotted a group of rival tribesmen, you then will need to quickly crouch down and take cover in any nearby plant growth as soon as you can. Please ensure that your bow and arrow are very silent, so that as long as you keep shoot your target in the head, your enemies won’t immediately discover where you are. Stealth stands in sharp contrast to firing off a shot and tagging your prey. If you ever happens get a good enough headshots with the bow, then you can start thinking that you can even defeat large groups of enemies without ever being seen. Even better still, if you can pick off the enemies when they inevitably become separated from the larger group, then there won’t be any additional enemies around to quickly spot your stealthy handy work at any time

Be Prepared to Switch Tactics

The best way for you to kill a charging wildcat or wolf is to either try and hit them straight in the head with an arrow during their initial charge, or simply equipping the club and swinging while they’re in mid-leap.

You will eventually have to switch your headshot strategy up a bit more when you are fighting predatory animals. They can typically sense you through undergrowth if they get too close to you, and they will start to make a beeline for you.

Get the Lay of the Land

In the world Far Cry Primal is extremely hostile to all human life. With rival tribesmen and deadly predators everywhere, you’re definitely going to need at least a few places to find sanctuary. We highly recommend that you start seeking out and clearing outposts and lighting bonfires as a top priority. You will notice that not only does each give you a fast travel point and a place to rest, but you’ll also notice that it get you a chance to explore Oros while doing so.

Clearing outposts and bonfire locations can be either very simple or really hard, this all depending on the terrain. These can be swarming with rival tribes, so the headlong approach will rarely end in any success. If you happens to be Looking for high ground that overlooks the outpost then start to rain down arrows heavily on your enemies whenever possible.

In Far Cry Primal crafting is a huge part of it, and let me add that you’re definitely going to need an immense amount of resources to craft all the weapons, build shelters for your tribe, make medicine, and also manufacture upgrades. In Hunter Vision, you can easily spot gatherable resources that are highlighted in yellow. We highly recommend for you to start picking them up, even if they’re a bit out of your way you need to go for them.

If you gather them every time they’re in your direct path, then you won’t have to remember how much of which resources you have, since you’ll have been taking every single item that you happen upon. If you do this, then you should see a notification that you can’t carry any more of an item popping much of the time when collecting materials. Please be mindful that collecting everything also increases your chances of finding rare versions of materials. Rarer materials will eventually allow you to craft even stronger versions of items and weapons than the more commonplace materials, so be aware that taking them means that you won’t miss out on anything.

Unlock the right skills

Please keep in mind that in Far Cry Primal you’ will earn experience points for almost every action including Completing story missions, defeating enemies and taming animals tend to give the most XP. Once you have get enough, then you will gain a and Each level will nets you a nice skill point. So you can use these to strengthen Takkar. The best skills to focus on early in the game are: Health Bar. Remember the he more difficult you are to kill, the better it is for you — especially when others are armed to the teeth, just like you are.

Taming Skills

The earlier that you can start to tame powerful animals is the more useful they will be. The mammoth and saber-toothed tiger are excellent choices here you can choose, especially since you can ride them later.

Gathering and crafting skills. Getting way more material and crafting much more items for less will make the whole game less frustrating.

Hunter Vision

Hunter vision will help you quickly track an escaping animal Takkar has a special ability called hunter vision. This vision makes it much easier to find any items even animals and places with which you can interact. Hunter vision can also be used anytime. After activating it, the world becomes slightly grey and points of interest become marked with yellow color. This will only allow you to easily find the animals, materials, also characters and enemies even Persons, items and animals that are mission targets are all marked with red color.

Blood marks can lead you to a wounded prey

Hunter vision is very helpful especially when tracking the wounded animals. By using it you will be likely to find blood marks, which determine in which direction the animal has escaped. It is also useful in missions during which you must track and kill an animal of your choice. Hunter vision can easily be upgraded and right after that, it will gradually show you a lot more information - for example the nearby plants. You even can also develop hunter vision for your owl if you want.

Please be mindful and Remember about using you hunter vision when you lose the animal track or even when you get lost. It can be also used for quickly finding places to attach the grappling craw (screen) if you do not know.

Revealing the Map

At first Oros map is fully covered and in order for you to go ahead and change that, you need to simply walk or ride for a little time. You will find out that new parts of the map are revealed only when Takkar walks close enough. The range of uncovered area can be greatly increased by buying skills (Reveal terrain I, Reveal terrain II). You will only have these skills once you should really focus on revealing just the whole map. You may think focusing is necessary but let me tell you that its not, you will then get to see that many missions will often force you to go to various corners of the map anyway all if you don’t want. When doing that you will notice that pieces of map has become revealed automatically. If you badly want to uncover the whole map as fast as possible, then just use a tamed animal or even a young mammoth for traveling.

It is wise to always first make the reconnaissance before you start reaching better-protected bonfires

The range of all your sight and new activities are easily unlocked by simply taking over the bonfires and then quickly setting them on fire. They are often scattered across the whole Oros. Usually only a few enemies always guard them so taking them over isn’t big challenging.

However, you need to look keenly out of your eyes and watch out carefully, as the bonfire that are most far away from Takkar’s village are always protected by stronger enemies. In addition to that, you need to know that enemies with horns can be very close. When you are detected, they can easily send all the enemies that are nearby right at you. So Due to that you need to stay protected and it is best to always remain hidden for as long as possible as you can and use the owl to mark all enemies that are close to the bonfire.

Bonfire can be set on fire with any weapon at any time

For you to successfully take order over a bonfire you need to simply kill all enemies that are close. Then quickly ignite the bonfire. This will then unlock a quick travel point, a reward stash and a resting place. You will also gain some new experience points and the population of the village will also increase. Some of the fires near the bonfires will also become marked as quick travel points. Always try to take over bonfires whenever you are close, this will only save you the trouble of walking in the future.
