Ubisoft earns top-five ranking of independent publishers in the United States and bolsters its position in Europe

Paris, April 21 st , 2005 . proudly announces it ranked among the top five independent publishers in the United States, all consoles combined, for the first quarter of 2005*. The Group has also strengthened its position in Europe, reaching second in the 1 in the console sector and third in Germany* for all platforms combined. This outstanding performance is the result of the Group‘s persistent strategy of quality and innovation. As such, the new brand Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30™, launched in March, recorded excellent sales from day one (ranking no. 3 in the United States and Germany and no. 2 in the United Kingdom on , as well as no. 5 in Germany and no. 3 in the United Kingdom on PC). Moreover sales of ‘s Splinter Cell® Chaos Theory™, launched on March 31st , have established a new record for Ubisoft on their first week 2. The company is also confirming its leadership in the on-line sector with three titles making the top five on Xbox LIVE 3, ‘s on-line gaming service: Tom Clancy‘s Splinter Cell® Chaos Theory™ , Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon™ 2 and Tom Clancy‘s ® 3: Black Arrow™. Likewise, Ubisoft has taken advantage of the of the new handheld consoles, ranking in second place for Nintendo DS and fourth for Sony‘s PSP in the United States.
