The result of this race in the GTE Pro class went in Porsche’s favour with the #92 Porsche 911 RSR of Kévin Estre/Neel Jani taking a commanding win. The #91 sister car of Gianmaria Bruni/Richard Lietz finished in fifth place in class being hampered by heavy traffic, a puncture and a rear end shunt by a Hypercar. The only Porsche finisher in GTE Am was the #88 Dempsey-Proton Porsche, and while a podium place was a possibility, a very www.porscheroadandrace.com late drive-through penalty torpedoed any chance of that happening. The factory #91 Porsche 911 RSR will be driven in the second round event at Portimão by Gianmaria Bruni, Richard Lietz and Frederic Makowiecki However, the whole WEC community moves to Portugal this weekend for Round 2 at the 4.684 km Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, which is nestled in the hilly hinterland close to the coastal resorts of Portimão and Lagos. Most of the WEC races are 6-hour events and only require two drivers per car, apart from Le Mans that is, but because the Portimão race is an 8-hour event, three drivers per car will be used. www.porscheroadandrace.com The works #92 Porsche 911 RSR will be driven in the second round event at Portimão by Kevin Estre, Neel Jani and Michael Christensen A total of 33 cars will take to the Portimão track on this weekend (13 June) in the four classes, made up as follows: Hypercar – 4 cars; LMP2 – 11 cars; GTE Pro – 4 cars; and GTE Am – 14 cars. The steepest downhill section of the track has an incline of more than twelve per cent, and drivers are also faced with blind corners and deep gravel beds. The start-finish straight measures more than 969 metres, enabling the GTE-Pro vehicles to reach top speeds of around 270 km/h. The decision was also made in accordance with the ACO and the FIA. www.porscheroadandrace.com The #88 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR will be driven in the second round event at Portimão by Dominique Bastien, Marco Seefried and Julien Andlauer Where to watch the 8 Hours of Portimão Round 2 of the FIA WEC in Portugal will be held on Sunday 13 June, and will run from 11h00 to 19h00. It will be televised by several major broadcasters including Eurosport and la chaine L’Equipe. The FIA WEC app will also broadcast action from qualifying and the full eight-hour race plus exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. www.porscheroadandrace.com The factory #91 Porsche 911 RSR will be driven in the second round event at Portimão by Gianmaria Bruni, Richard Lietz and Frederic Makowiecki As part of a new three-year deal in France, free-to-air TV channel L’Equipe will show the pre-race build-up and some parts of the race live. The full race will be available online at L’Equipe.Fr. In Germany, the full race will be shown live on Sport1+ and on Sport 1 from 17h00 – 20h15. In Belgium, RTBF will show the full race live on RTBF Auvio, its digital platform. Meanwhile, Eurosport will televise 3.5 hours on Eurosport 2 across Europe (including the UK) and a further two hours on Eurosport 1. Moreover, the full race will be live on Motorsport.tv and Eurosport Player, with highlights available online. MotorTrend – a linear network dedicated to auto enthusiasts – will broadcast the first and last hour race live in the USA and the Caribbean, as well as post-race on MotorTrend network. www.porscheroadandrace.com The #56 Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR will be driven in the second round event at Portimão by Egidio Perfetti, Matteo Cairoli and Riccardo Pera Residents in South America can watch the full race live via Fox Sports 3. Eurosport will also broadcast 5.5 hours of the race live pan Asia-Pacific and in Australia. Meanwhile, Super Sport will air the full race live on FTB as part of a pan-regional deal in Africa. Finally, J Sports will broadcast the full race live to Japanese fans who can tune in to see home drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Kazuki Nakajima in Toyota’s brand-new Hypercar. In New Zealand, fans can watch live via Sky. Don’t forget to download the FIA WEC app which is available worldwide (apart from USA and Canada where it is geo-blocked). The #86 GR Racing Porsche 911 RSR will be driven in the second round event at Portimão by Michael Wainwright, Benjamin Barker and Tom Gamble For the rest of the world, there will be various TV channels and online platforms that will broadcast qualifying, the race and/or highlights. STOP PRESS Information relating to the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours just in… The good news is that the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans (21-22 August) will be open to fans! Tickets go on general sale at 10h00 CEST on Monday 21 June. www.porscheroadandrace.com Before the start of the race each year, an army helicopter delivers the French Tricolour flag which is used to start the race. In a spectacular manoeuvre, a pair of Commandos descend from the hovering helicopter to hand over the Tricolour to the starter. The helicopter then drops its nose to an almost vertical position, applies a burst of speed along the length of the start/finish straight and banks away steeply in a final display of aeronautical theatrics. The second helicopter in the top right of the picture, is filming the action for television. It makes for a great start to the race! Round 4 of the WEC will be the 24 Hours of Le Mans held over the weekend of 20-21 August, starting at the later time of 16h00 CEST. This will be the first time that the new Hypercar class will run at Le Mans. Attendance will be limited to approximately 50,000 (20% of the usual capacity, subject to Government decisions) and spectators will be required to present the health passport www.porscheroadandrace.com introduced by the French Government on 9 June. By reducing capacity and using the health passport, we can host a premium-quality event safely. Scrutineering (Saturday 14 August) and Test Day (Sunday 15 August) will not be open to the public. The circuit will be open to spectators from Wednesday 18 August for the first free practice sessions. Several campsites and car parks will be available. Entry will be free for under-16s (grandstand seats free for children under 8). Le Mans 24 Hours, 19-20 September 2020: The pre-race grid was a busy place despite the presence of the Covid-19 pandemic – note the empty grandstand Given the continually changing health situation, there will be no concerts or funfair at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year. There will, however, be a whole range of entertainment to provide an outstanding experience for fans returning to the circuit. www.porscheroadandrace.com In the event of a government-enforced cancellation or another closed-door event, all spectators will be refunded. Larry ten Voorde has had precious little time for hobbies lately. “Eight races within ten weeks – my fishing gear has probably gathered dust by now,” laughs the overall winner of the 2020 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. While racing drivers often seek an adrenaline rush in their spare time, the 23-year-old Dutchman takes a different tack. “Fly-fishing helps me relax completely and recharge my inner battery.” His strategy obviously works. Notching up three wins from eight races, Ten Voorde was the dominant driver of the 2020 season. “What an incredible year. My GP Elite team was new to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. I wouldn’t have thought it possible to win the title off the bat,” says Ten Voorde, as he looks back on the shortest season in the history of the international one-make cup with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup run over just ten weeks. “Initially we had to learn the hard way, but we put in the effort and improved from race to race.” As the team captain, Ten Voorde played a major role in improving the squad’s performance. On the racetrack, the fastest member of the 2,500-strong community of Boekelo close to Enschede shows no signs of angler serenity: “Larry has an incredible will to win. His entire life revolves around winning the next race,” explains team boss Torsten van Haasteren. The 2013 6 Hours of Sao Paulo saw Audi Sport Team Joest claim a one-two finish. The job of the two Audi R18 e-tron quattros was facilitated by the early elimination of the TOYOTA TS030 Hybrid following a tangle 35 minutes into the race. However, that didn‟t prevent the German team‟s drivers from producing an exciting fight as they battled for WEC FIA World Endurance Championship points. Their clash lasted until Lap 142 when the N°2 Audi lost a wheel as it re- joined the track after a pit-stop. It was compelled to complete a whole lap with just three corners attached before the situation was corrected during an unscheduled stop. Despite all these incidents, MICHELIN Motorsport‟s technical staff were able to carry out a thorough analysis of the brand‟s latest LMP1 endurance racing tyres after they had used the summer break to develop new solutions adapted to the more abrasive tracks visited by the second half of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship. Audi Sport Team Joest and Toyota Motorsport GmbH were both able to use these new tyres during Friday‟s free practice session. They were won over by their performance and chose to use them for qualifying. “We were pleasantly surprised because we had very few opportunities to test the new medium- compound MICHELIN tyres before leaving for Brazil,” observed Audi Sport Team Joest driver Benoît TRELUYER before the start of the race.

His contract precluded him from racing for an opposition team inside six months, and so he has been limited to testing the 911 RSR. Norway’s Dennis Olsen and Australian Matt Campbell will be supported in the future as Porsche Young Professionals in international GT racing. The Porsche Young Professionals squad also includes Matteo Cairoli from Italy and Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet. Thomas Preining from Austria makes the step up from the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, where he will be supported as a Porsche Junior. Porsche Motorsport will also support Julien Andlauer as a new Porsche Junior. The Frenchman came through an international trial and will also race in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in 2018. “All our young racing drivers have developed superbly in 2017. The one-make cups, in particular, have proven to be an outstanding springboard for the Porsche Juniors,” said Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Vice President Motorsport and GT Cars. Dennis Olsen Page 1 of 5 Olsen won the title in the 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. The 21-year-old from the Konrad Motorsport team demonstrated a particularly impressive level of consistency. As well as six race wins, the young driver from Våler in Norway also finished on the podium in 12 of the season’s 14 races. Olsen also demonstrated his talent in the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, in which he drove for the Walter Lechner Racing Team. The youngster was victorious at the iconic British circuit in Silverstone, as well as the double-header at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium). He ended the season second in the championship and was crowned top rookie.
