Time to Go Racing with the New Aston Martin Vantage GTE
Time to go racing with the new Aston Martin Vantage GTE • Aston Martin Vantage GTE to make its racing debut at Spa-Francorchamps • Team confident car is competitive and reliable ahead of season • Aston Martin Racing begins historic Super Season with world class driver line-up Tuesday 1 May, Spa-Francorchamps: The new Aston Martin Vantage GTE will make its long- awaited debut in the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Super Season at the Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps this weekend (3-5 May). The Aston Martin Vantage GTE is based on the critically-acclaimed Aston Martin Vantage road car, the most performance oriented sports car to come from Aston Martin’s ‘Second Century Plan’. Powered by a 4.0-litre, V8 turbo-charged AMG engine developed and optimised by AMR, the Vantage GTE is the first all-new GT car Aston Martin has introduced to the FIA WEC GTE category in seven years. Following an extensive 10-month testing and development programme that has covered 35,000km and 14 different circuits, the team is confident that it has a competitive and reliable car capable of repeating Aston Martin Racing's 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours glory in June and contending for the overall Super Season GTE Pro title. Aston Martin Racing also boasts a world class driving line-up in 2018. The GTE Pro roster includes three-time Le Mans winner Darren Turner, who is joined in the #95 car by 2016 FIA WEC GTE Pro champions Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen. Meanwhile, 2017 Le Mans winner Jonny Adam shares the #97 entry with DTM and Spa 24 Hours race-winner Maxime Martin (B) and Formula 1 test driver and Formula E racer Alex Lynn (GB). -

Communications Motorsport Eva -Maria Veith Tel: +49 173 9393522 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -motorsport.info World Endurance Championship visits Audi’s largest market • Final sprint in FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) • China is Audi’s largest sales market • Audi victorious in 6-hour race at Shanghai a year ago Ingolstadt, October 27, 2014 – The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) is wound up to a high pitch. Within the space of three weeks, sports car fans have been thrilled by the lead in the manufacturers’ championship changing twice. Following two one-two victories in succession, Audi had taken the top spot in the standings at the season’s midpoint. Although the brand had to relinquish its lead in the race in Japan, it remains in striking distance of the leader of the standings. Now the World Championship decision is coming to a head, as the sixth of eight WEC races is on the agenda at Shanghai on November 2. The brand with the four rings is separated by merely eight points from leader of the standings Toyota in the manufacturers’ classification, while the brand’s advantage over the third-placed brand, Porsche, is 66 points. A total of 132 points are yet to be awarded until the finale. The WEC round in China has special significance for Audi for several reasons. The track is regarded as very challenging, the team achieved victory there last year, and the ‘Middle Kingdom’ has evolved into the largest sales market for AUDI AG. In China, the company delivered 415,704 automobiles between January and September – 16 percent more than a year ago. -
WRC Rallye D'espagne
MEDIA INFORMATION September 1 Round 4: 2013 6 Hours of Sao Paulo New MICHELIN endurance racing tyres: Medium compound for hot weather… mission accomplished! The 2013 6 Hours of Sao Paulo saw Audi Sport Team Joest claim a one-two finish. The job of the two Audi R18 e-tron quattros was facilitated by the early elimination of the TOYOTA TS030 Hybrid following a tangle 35 minutes into the race. However, that didn‟t prevent the German team‟s drivers from producing an exciting fight as they battled for WEC FIA World Endurance Championship points. Their clash lasted until Lap 142 when the N°2 Audi lost a wheel as it re- joined the track after a pit-stop. It was compelled to complete a whole lap with just three corners attached before the situation was corrected during an unscheduled stop. Despite all these incidents, MICHELIN Motorsport‟s technical staff were able to carry out a thorough analysis of the brand‟s latest LMP1 endurance racing tyres after they had used the summer break to develop new solutions adapted to the more abrasive tracks visited by the second half of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship. Audi Sport Team Joest and Toyota Motorsport GmbH were both able to use these new tyres during Friday‟s free practice session. They were won over by their performance and chose to use them for qualifying. “We were pleasantly surprised because we had very few opportunities to test the new medium- compound MICHELIN tyres before leaving for Brazil,” observed Audi Sport Team Joest driver Benoît TRELUYER before the start of the race. -

Press Release October 31, 2016 No. M 220/16 FIA World Endurance Championship WEC, LMP1, Round 8, Shanghai (China), Preview Match point for Porsche in the fight for the manufacturers’ championship Stuttgart. On November 6 the FIA World Endurance Championship is having its eighth and, at the same time, penultimate round of the 2016 season. One year ago in Shang- hai Porsche celebrated an early win in the manufacturers’ world championship. Noth- ing less than the defence of this title is the target for this year’s six-hour race at the Chinese Formula One circuit. So far this season the Porsche Team has achieved five race wins with its two 919 Hybrids and leads the manufacturers’ world championship with 263 points ahead of Audi (204) and Toyota (174). With the current advantage being 59 points, the team could start partying if the gap was at least 44 points after six hours of racing. We very much regret the loss of Audi as a great competitor from the 2017 WEC season on. Porsche will compete in the entire 2017 WEC season as planned. So far Porsche has derived a huge benefit in terms of knowledge and innovations for production cars from the LMP1 programme – this applies in particular to the 24-hour race at Le Mans. To be too relaxed in this year`s fight for the championship would be wrong, warned Fritz Enzinger. The Vice President LMP1 points to last year’s experience: “At the final race in Bahrain in 2015, it was the drivers’ title that seemed fairly easy to get. -

www.porscheroadandrace.com Gianmaria Bruni on the 911 RSR Published: 30th June 2017 By: Glen Smale Online version: https://www.porscheroadandrace.com/gianmaria-bruni-on-the-911-rsr/ The #912 Porsche RSR that Gianmaria Bruni will share with Laurens Vanthoor There was great excitement in Porsche circles around the world, when it was announced earlier this year that the Italian Ferrari driver, Gianmaria Bruni, had split from his AF Corse Ferrari team and was to join the Porsche GTE ranks. His contract precluded him from racing for an opposition team inside six months, and so he has been limited to testing the 911 RSR. Bruni will join Porsche in the USA in its challenge for honours in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. www.porscheroadandrace.com “I was very impressed with the team’s professionalism,” said Gianmaria Bruni. The Italian has waited a long time for this opportunity, but on 2 July in Watkins Glen in the American state of New York, he will contest his first race for Porsche with the 911 RSR in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. “It’s a big challenge for me to switch in the middle of the season to such a strongly supported series like the IMSA SportsCar Championship with a new car,” said the new Porsche works driver in an interview. After securing victories and titles for Ferrari over the past years, he now joins forces with his Belgian works driver teammate Laurens Vanthoor to tackle North America’s premier sports car championship for Porsche. “There are many things I’ll have to get used to, but I’m very grateful for this chance and I’ll do everything to achieve successes with Porsche as soon as possible.” Gianmaria, up until now you’ve only tested the new 911 RSR. -

Not to be outdone, Nick Tandy/Patrick Pilet/Frédéric Makowiecki also grabbed a win in the #911 Porsche 911 RSR in round two of the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship, the 12 Hour of Sebring. www.porscheroadandrace.com WEC Round 6, 1000 Miles of Sebring First up, in the 1000-mile race WEC race on Friday, which was capped at eight hours, ran without incident over long stretches for the Bruni/Lietz pairing. Sitting in second place around 25 minutes before the finish, the rain arrived necessitating an additional pit stop, but the Manthey-Racing factory crew did a perfect job ensuring that the #91 car left the pits first. WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring, 15 March 2019: #91 Porsche 911 RSR driven by Gianmaria Bruni and Richard Lietz However, for the pairing of Kévin Estre/Michael Christensen, their start from pole position was marred by a collision with a rival car. In the ensuing chase, the #92 car fell back down the field as a result of a stop-and-go penalty. The few overtaking manoeuvres possible on www.porscheroadandrace.com this infamously bumpy track hampered the car from catching the leading pack, and they finished in fifth place. -
