2015 BARREL-FERMENTED COLOMBARD Old Vines Russian River Valley

Story: Colombard is a variety originally from the South-West of where it has been grown for hundreds of years. Yannick made his first Colombard in 1996 in the heart of Gascony. The for our come from one of two or three remaining Colombard in the Russian River Valley. Tasting note: 2015 was such a dry and warm year that Yannick picked Colombard grapes in September - three weeks earlier than normal. The wine was a little richer and fuller than in previous , and so it presented a great opportunity to experiment with barrel fermentation and aging. While not imparting any flavors, barrel fermentation has added nice texture and creaminess to the crispy, mineral Colombard, making it a great dinner wine. Enjoy it with scallops, fish in a lemon cream sauce, or roast chicken. Be sure to sniff the glass first - we think you’ll like its aromas of lemon pie, quince, and pineapple. 44 cases made, sold exclusively at the AVA: Russian River Valley : 44-year-old, dry-farmed vines :

Alcohol: 12.5% pH: 3.35

91 | From decades-old, dry-farmed vines, the wine then 100% barrel fermented, this the grapes were picked particularly early and were still quite rich and full, prompting this experimentation. Lemony bright, floral aromas and flavors meet a lean, refreshing body of apricot and green apple, a pleasant experience from start to finish. (Virgine Boone)
