Bad Company Holy Water lyrics. In my life, there's been changes But nothing seems to satisfy me the way you do, no You make it easy, the way you please me Everytime I'm close to you. All this temptation, I can't see wrong from right It's a new sensation, you know I'm blinded by the light. (Feels like) I'm walking on holy water Feels like I'm walking on sacred ground, baby (Feels like) I'm walking on holy water, everytime (that) you come 'round. You were all I ever wanted, never had a girl in my life 'til I met you, oh no I got a certain feeling, you got my senses reeling Whenever I get close to you. You're my salvation, I found you just in time My one temptation, you know I can't believe you're mine. Ooh yeah, it's funny how it seems like yesterday Lovin' of the first degree One word was all I heard you say, ooh baby It's funny what you've done to me Just wanna see you run to me. All this temptation, I can't see wrong from right It's a new sensation, you know I'm blinded by the light. Holy Water. Bad Company's last platinum album, Holy Water is a formulaic yet reasonably engaging collection of AOR hard rock. Although the only original members on Holy Water are guitarist and drummer , the band does a fair job of approximating the sound of classic Bad Company while adding enough elements of '80s pop-metal to make the record appealing to teenagers who grew up on power ballads. And the band does turn in a first-rate power ballad with "," which rose all the way to number 16 on the singles chart. Surprisingly, that was one of three hits from the album -- "Holy Water" and "Walk Through Fire" also received a fair amount of airplay. What that success signals is not a creative rebirth for Bad Company, but that the group knew how to follow a formula very well. Holy Water hasn't aged as well as their original hit albums -- instead of the clean, ballsy attack of Bad Company and Straight Shooter, it's awash in echo and synths -- but it is a finely crafted, big-budget record of the late '80s and early '90s. It's just as indicative of its era as Bad Company is. BAD COMPANY – Holy Water [The Deluxe Edition / Remastered + Bonus] (2015) This one was requested in one comment (place yours!) and it’s a true pleasure to be featured here: BAD COMPANY ‘s more AOR albums remastered by prestigious label Friday Music released at the end of last year. Packed in a 2-CD set, Bad Company’s ‘ & Holy Water – The Deluxe Edition ” are impeccably mastered from the original Atlantic Records tapes by Joe “Heavy Metal Kid” Reagoso (Deep Purple / Alice Cooper / ). This exclusive first time limited release also includes a new commentary track by track from Bad Company’s singer Brian Howe as well as several out of print and rare bonus tracks. After the Dangerous Age album sold nearly a million copies and put Bad Company on the map again, the success gave the band’s revamped lineup (including fantastic vocalist Brian Howe) a mandate for another album. With most of the songs witten by Howe in partnership with talented Terry Thomas (ex Charlie) and an even more slick, bombastic & polished production than its predecessor, “Holy Water”, released in 1990 is simply awesome. Awesome for all American AOR / Melodic Rock fans, as “Holy Water” packs all the ingredients which made this genre what it is by definition: class, hooks, elegance, catchiness, top notch production and superb songs! But also proved to be appealing to mainstream audiences: it went platinum selling over 1,000,000 units, and climbed to #35 on the general Billboard Top Albums Chart. The first single “Holy Water”, was a #1 Billboard Album Rock Track for two weeks during the Summer of ’90 as the band toured the U.S. with Damn Yankees. The single “If You Needed Somebody” became a major hit in early 1991, while “Boys Cry Tough”, “Stranger, Stranger” and “Walk Through Fire” also charted really well worldwide and received substantial airplay. I can’t recommend Bad Company’s “Holy Water” enough… it’s one of my favorite albums from 1990 (and what a year it was) and easily among the greatest 100 AOR albums of all time. Just listen “If You Needed Somebody”… American AOR perfection. This Friday Music remastering is fabulous, including the rare ‘vault find’ remix of “Walk Through Fire”, a really wonderful new version of this already wonderful tune. Awesome album, awesome remaster. A MUST HAVE. Like something straight out of “The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde”, singer Vincent Furnier surrendered to the domination of showman Alice Cooper. But by his own admission, the man who always speaks of “Alice” in the third person in interviews remains a simple, completely normal guy in private, far from the stage where he enacts his excesses and provocations. Throughout a career stretching over 50 years, there is an evident streak of schizophrenia in his many stylistic changes. While we credit him with the invention of shock rock, he has ventured into almost every genre with varying degrees of success, from pop to nascent hard rock, with forays into heavy metal, new wave and industrial… In the autumn of 1969, four young lads from Birmingham crammed themselves into a studio in London for what looked like their last chance at making a career in music. They had 24 hours to record and to change their lives forever. They left the studio with “Black Sabbath” an eponymous debut album from the band led by Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Tommy Iommi that would turn a whole generation onto heavy metal. Let's look back on this sonic revolution. With 50 million copies sold, Back in Black is the second best-selling album of all time just behind Michael Jackson’s thriller. Who could have imagined that AC/DC’s seventh studio album would pick up so many awards considering their charismatic lead-singer Bon Scott’s premature death after the release of Highway to Hell. The album marked the end of their first chapter but the beginning of their second which fans of the Australian band today continue to relish… Bad Company. Formed in 1973, the British hard rock outfit Bad Company was a supergroup comprising ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell, former Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, and singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, both previous members of Free. Powered by Rodgers' muscular vocals and Ralphs' blues-based guitar work, Bad Company was the first group signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song vanity label. Their eponymous 1974 debut was an international hit, topping the U.S. album charts and scoring with the number one single "Can't Get Enough of Your Love." Straight Shooter, issued the following year, was another major success, notching the hit "Feel Like Makin' Love," while 1976's Run With the Pack was Bad Company's third consecutive million-selling record. After 1977's Burnin' Sky, Bad Company recorded 1979's Desolation Angels, which embellished the group's sound with synthesizers and strings; a three-year hiatus followed before the release of Rough Diamonds, the group's final LP in its original incarnation. In 1986, Ralphs and Kirke resurrected the Bad Company name, enlisting former Ted Nugent vocalist Brian Howe to replace Rodgers. The reconfigured unit's debut, Fame & Fortune, was a commercial failure, but 1988's Dangerous Age became a minor hit. Released in 1990, Holy Water fared even better, as the power ballad "If You Needed Somebody" became a Top 20 success. Here Comes Trouble, issued in 1992, achieved platinum status, and earned another Top 40 hit with "How About That." On their 20th anniversary, Bad Company expanded into a quintet with the addition of bassist and rhythm guitarist , and released the live retrospective The Best of Bad Company Live. What You Hear Is What You Get. Two more LPs -- 1995's The Company of Strangers and the next year's Stories Told and Untold -- followed, and in 1998 the original lineup of Rodgers, Ralphs, Kirke, and Burrell reunited to record a handful of new tracks that surfaced alongside past material early the following year on The Original Bad Company Anthology. A lengthy reunion tour followed that spring, after which Bad Company disbanded again. Although various reunited lineups would appear over the next decade, the 1999 tour would be the last time the four original members performed together. Burrell suffered a heart attack in 2006 and died at his home in Spain. A pair of live releases in 2010 and 2011 were issued, culled from tours of the same era. In 2013, Bad Company joined Lynyrd Skynyrd on a joint headlining tour to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary. While no new material was released, the band's first two albums received deluxe reissues in 2015. Vocalist Brian Howe died at his home in Florida on May 5, 2020 due to cardiac arrest; he was 66 years old.
