Victor Rice - in America MEGA004 http://musicvid/int/catalog/auto_salessheet/salessheet_create.php?auto=1... Victor Rice - In America Ska music made slow, nice and smooth, in a rainy day dub style. DESCRIPTION A long time friend of Buck and the Toasters (he also performs on the Live In Brasil release) this release will mark the beginning of things to come for Megalith and the ska scene overall. Victor Rice has a long history of work in the ska scene and outside the genre. He has played in band such as the Scofflaws, Mephiskapheles, New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble and the Toasters, just to name a few. He is also a producer and mixer of many ska bands including works with the one and only Dr. Ring Ding out of Germany as well as a handful of bands from Brasil!. If you haven't been turned on to the deep down ska dub sounds of VR, you really are missing a whole world of grade A music. Everything Victor puts his hands on is golden, this album is no exception. Not to mention this album features many of today's top notch ska musicians like Brian (Buford) O'Sullivan, Paul Gebhardt, David Hahn and Eddie Ocampo, to name a few. If you want something to do on a Sunday afternoon, turn this record on and soak in the low decibel that is Victor Rice... SKA FROM OUR NATION’S CAPITOL! Looking forward to it. How do you feel ska in 1997 is doing? Steve Jackson and Tommy Goodin of SJ: Obviously really well if all these people are here. I think it’s doing cool. Say what you “We write will about different bands being more successful than others, at the same time Hepcat, The Slackers, The Smooths (from Baltimore), Isaac Green.....There’s just so many good songs about THE PIETASTERS bands playing right now. Whether or not you like the fact that a lot of people come to shows, or whether or not you like the fact that Goldfinger used to be a heavy metal band, May 18th 1997 there’s still some really good bands playing now, and that’s the coolest part about it. Jambalaya Brass Band is New York City's ultimate New Orleans party band. They are available for performances with as few as 5 pieces or as many as 9 pieces. Since 1998 they've been kickin' it hard with a flavor straight from the streets of New Orleans, paying their respects to the unique musical traditions of New Orleans incorporating a special blend of R & B, Funk, Gospel, Traditional Jazz, Zydeco, Latin, Hip Hop and Be-Bop. • STAGE PRESENCE Costume and Make-Up in Indian Classical Dance
May 2021 ® ON Stagevolume 10 • issue 10 STAGE PRESENCE Costume and make-up in Indian classical dance A RICHER SOUND A FINE STATE New members join the SOI Glimpses of Maharashtra Chairman’s Note here is a general impression that with the lockdown, the NCPA is not functioning as before. While it is true that there is nothing Twhich can substitute a face-to-face encounter and/or meeting to achieve the desired result, the next best course is to gird up our loins and innovate ways in which the NCPA would most benefit and the employees, musicians, technicians, etc. would occupy themselves meaningfully. Having laid out these objectives before our heads of divisions, I must say that a modicum of success has been achieved. The musicians in residence of the SOI have been furiously preparing new programmes and have already, in the last month, recorded four of them fully for the digital platform. These have been recorded in the theatre and with better sound than when the audience is present. Similarly, full- year plans, conditions permitting, have been presented by the Indian Music, International Music, Dance and Theatre genres. Preparations are, therefore, underway to put together a year’s programme of likely performances when the lockdown and other bans are lifted and otherwise, recording online for the presence of the NCPA to be noted by its members and the public alike. Methods of management are being put together and we realise that getting the finest advisors in areas where we need these inputs is the cheapest way of keeping up with technology and modern practices.
