IBM® Tivoli® Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines provides a centralized system management tool on the Tivoli platform for Windows NT®, 2000, and XP automated teller machines that use the eXtensions for Financial Services (XFS) interface specification Release 2.0. These automated teller machines, are referred to in this document as Windows® XFS automated teller machines.

In providing integration of Windows XFS automated teller machines with the Tivoli Management Framework, IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines enables: v Collecting and querying of inventory information for automated teller machines. v Distribute software to your automated teller machines. v Rebooting of automated teller machines.

These release notes are the most current information for the product. Review these notes thoroughly before installing or using this product.

Component installation requirements The following sections contain requirements and considerations for installing the components of IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines, Version 2.1 using one of the following methods: v The ISMP Installation Program Wizard v The Tivoli Desktop v Tivoli Management Framework v The Silent Installation v The Tivoli software Installation Service Hardware Requirements IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines, Version 2.1 has specific hardware prerequisites that must be met before it can be installed and considered functional. These requirements include hardware platforms, RAM, and disk space. The prerequisites listed in this section are the recommended environment for at the time of publication. IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines, Version 2.1 is supported only when used with prerequisites that are officially supported by the third-party vendor. Supported Hardware Platforms The following table identifies the supported operating system versions for each supported hardware platform.

Disk Space Requirements On the Tivoli server, the disk space requirement for IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines is 6 MB for any supported platform.

Note: The installation program requires at least 120 MB free disk space in the operating system temporary directory to run. Software Requirements Before installing IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines, Version 2.1, you must have the following software installed and running: On the Tivoli Server: v A supported operating system v Tivoli Management Framework, Version 4.1 v IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Software Distribution, Version 4.2 v IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Inventory, Version 4.2 On the Automated Teller Machine v A supported operating system v Tivoli Management Framework Endpoint, Version 4.1 v The XFS service provider software, Release 2.0 Ensure also that the logical services for the automated teller machine peripheral devices are configured. If any of the devices are configured using service class names other than the standard service class names, you need to define your service class names using an alias file provided with IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines, Version 2.1. See the IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines: User’s Guide for a detailed explanation.

This chapter contains software limitations, problems, and workarounds for international versions of IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines, Version 2.1.

Software limitations, problems and workarounds This section describes software limitations, problems, and workarounds that apply to international versions of IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines, Version 2.1. v Defect 38318: InstallShield MultiPlatform, Version 5.0 that is used in IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager for Automated Teller Machines, Version 2.1 does not support the Arabic locale. For this reason the dialog that loads the InstallShield Wizard is displayed with strange characters, the others dialogs are displayed in English. The corresponding InstallShield MultiPlatform defect is LSMH5GAFC2, and will be fixed with Version 6.0. v In the Arabic environment, using Windows 2000 all the Java™ dialogs default the keyboard to Arabic. This means that in all the input text boxes you can correctly enter Arabic characters but not English characters. Use the Alt+Shift combination to set the keyboard into English.
