The earliest deposits encountered were dated to the 11th/12th century and were located close to the river. Late medieval pits and channels were identified, associated with the agricultural use of the water meadow. An early post-medieval water tank was identified and domestic dump deposits of the same period were also encountered. Buildings were constructed on the site throughout the post-medieval period, before the site was used for industrial use during the 20th century. Undated layers were identified, probably of medieval date in an area of open ground. Part of which may have been a marsh. A medieval wall was also identified, along with post-medieval dump deposits and a possible ditch. Periods of medieval occupation interrupted by flood deposits were identified. Pits, ditches, structures and surfaces were identified across the site. Some evidence of the buildings that fronted South End were also identified. The site dropped out of use during the post-medieval period and was levelled in modern times. Two undated ditches were recorded and were possibly late medieval/post-medieval in date. A post-medieval buried soil was also identified. A Neolithic flint blade was recovered. A few shallow features were identified including post holes and pits but could not be dated to the prehistoric. A infilled palaeochannel was also identified. Medieval deposits were identified along with prehistoric and early historic water courses. The most significant remains recovered were early 3rd century pottery and human bone, indicating potential for a cemetery. Modern rubbish pits truncated much of the site. 10th-13th century finds were recovered from the base of the trench. A geophysical survey was carried out on the site and the evaluation trenches were targeted on the results. Post-medieval land drains were the only features identified. A 16th century surface and structural remains were identified. The surface was cut by a later pit and sealed by build-up material. Pits and ditches of Saxo-Norman date were identified and were interpreted as paddocks. The site went out of use till the 16th century and pits and ditches were identified from this period to the 18th century. A large assemblage of post-medieval finds were recovered.
