The What’s Happening in the North West? booklet provides many ideas for older adults to be active and social in their local area, whether it be gardening, playing golf or tennis, joining in aqua aerobics or playing scrabble. This book has something to suit a wide range of interests and abilities.

Because lawn bowls is a game of skill, not extreme physical exertion, it is possible to be a champion at any age. The Circular Head Walking Club is for people who enjoy walking along beaches, through bushland, over hills and beside rivers - not always on tracks. Bootscootin’ Devils has been a social group of line dancers for two years. It has no formal teacher but does have members who are happy to teach beginners, and any one else, the fun of line dancing. The Men’s Health Peer Education program aims to raise the veteran community’s awareness of men’s health issues by encouraging community members to share the responsibility for managing their own health and wellbeing.

Ulverstone 50+ Leisure Group
This group of about 30 people meets each month for walking and social interaction.
