Anne Howerton ASLA, LEED AP Anne Howerton leads the landscape design practice at Hart Howerton. Her education and experience qualify her to work at all levels in the profession, from the design of complex sites where challenging topography, soils and horticultural requirements call for unique solutions, to the creation of distinc- tive luxury hospitality settings for hotels, resorts, private clubs, to master planning innovative landscapes and streetscapes for new communities. Since joining the firm in 1986, Anne has worked on many of the firm’s largest and most influential new community projects, including the award-winning Santa Lucia Preserve and Palmetto Bluff, Nexton in Charleston, North Caro- lina, and currently Walsh in Fort Worth, Texas. Anne has been responsible for overall vision and developing landscape master plans and landscape design guidelines, as well as the detailed landscape designs for key elements and amenities. Current and recent projects include a private beach club in Hobe Sound, Florida; community and clubhouse landscape at Rolling Hills Country Club in Palos Verdes; a new community, Oak Knoll, in Oakland; the renovation and expansion of the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley; design of urban streetscapes and an urban park at Emeryville’s Public Market; a new community in Hoakalei on Oahu; and luxury hospitality projects for international brands in California, Montana, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Panama. Her extensive horticultural knowledge in diverse geographic settings and technical competence, combined with a deep understanding of design, has been a long-standing foundation of the firm’s practice. He brings expertise in both public and private sector transportation planning and private sector land use planning and zoning. He also has extensive experience in land use and growth management practices and is qualified as an expert witness in land use and growth management plans.
