Knerlings Pullover ------------------------------------------------------- size 86-92 / 1 to 2 years ------------------------------------------------------- co : cast on sts : stitches k : knit p: purl m : increase (1) d: decrease (1) R: row bo: bind of b: border (recommended: knit on odd rows, purl on even rows) *…* : repeat cc : change color k2tog: knit 2 stitches together gauge: 4 inch / 10 cm x 4 inch / 10 cm equals 16sts, 26 rows --------------- Make Front & Back as circa 34 cms x 34cms rectangle ------------------ for each part (Front and Back): using 3.5mm circular needle, Schachenmayr Artoro cast on 50 sts and work in k2,p2 rib for 5 cm / 2 inch (for newbies: first row b,k1,*p2,k2*,p2,k1,b -> * repeat 11 times second row b,p1,*k2,p2*,k2,p1,b -> * repeat 11 times repeat row1, row 2 for 5cm (2 inches), ending with even row) change to 4.0mm circular needles and stockinette stitch knit 1 row (should be odd row), turn, change color (Lana Grossa Olympia) purl 1 row change color (Artoro) -> go back to end of last row where Artoro yarn is and purl another row, now both yarns are on the same end, turn work 6 more rows in stockinette stitch cc, (Olympia) and work one row reverse to stockinette stitch cc, going back to artoro yarn ending and work second row reverse to stockinette stitch work 8 rows in stockinette stitch cc, one row in stockinette, second row reverse to stockinette (Olympia) cc, work 8 rows in artoro in stockinette stitch (Artoro) cc, work 1 row reverse to stockinette stitch (Olympia) cc, work 1 row reverse to stockinette stitch (Artoro) work 10 rows in stockinette stitch (still Artoro) cc, work 2 rows in stockinette stitch (Olympia) cc, work 8 rows in stockinette stitch (Artoro) cc, work 1 row reverse to stockinette stitch (Olympia ends here, so cut yarn leaving some yarn for weaving in the end) cc, work 1 row reverse to stockinette stitch (Artoro) work 2 more rows in stockinette stitch (still Artoro) ---------------------- now, for Back work 4 more rows stockinette stitch, then slip 20 stitches in the middle to waste yarn and finish both sides separately, working 4 more rows stockinette stitch on each side and slipping the 15 stitches on each side to waste yarn, also. --------------------- for Front slip 20 middle stitches to waste yarn, finish sides separately working 8 rows each side and slipping 15 stitches of each side to waste yarn. graft 2*15 stitches on each shoulder together (means sewing in a way that seem is invisible) Slip 10 sts from front 20sts to 3.5 mm circular needle, make 13 sts out of shoulder part, slip 20 sts from back on this needle, make 13 out of shoulder part, slip other 10 sts from front, work in stockinette stitch beginning with right collar edge, work 8 rows and don't forget to make a buttonhole in 6th row (4 sts before end of row d1 (=button hole), finish row, turn, work 3 and m1 on at buttonhole) bind off (If you want to tighten collar more try : k8, k2tog k13, k2tog, k16, k2tog, k13, k2tog, k8 on first row) ----------------------- Sleeves: work two sleeves Using 3.5mm circular needle, cast on 26 stitches and work in k2,p2 rib for 10 rows change to 4mm needle, work in stockinette stitch for 21 cm or desired length of arm increase evenly to 36 sts in 5 steps by making one stitch at beginning (second stitch) and end (penultimate stitch) of row in first stockinette row and then four times every 4cm after the last increase row. bind off loose (take care it stays flexible) close arms, sew arms to body connecting middle of arm to line of grafted sts at shoulder. close body sides starting from bottom to armhole at approx. 22 cms from bottom line weave in loose ends and fix olympia yarn on sides of body parts add button matching to button hole enjoy :-) .
