Rio 2: One Big Blue Family Free FREE RIO 2: ONE BIG BLUE FAMILY PDF Catherine Hapka | 32 pages | 27 Mar 2014 | HarperCollins Publishers Inc | 9780062284983 | English | New York, United States Review: 'Rio 2' - MTV As far as animated movies go, this one was a treat and is the Rio 2: One Big Blue Family to the Rio movie that came out in It takes place in the Amazon rainforest. In the beginning, we see where Blu and Jewel left off — they now have three children — Carla, Bia and Tiago. They witness a rare bird — a very fast flying spix macaw and it loses one feather. Jewel feels the right thing to do is help find these blue macaws. The three kids are keen and look forward to this new adventure. Blu does not look thrilled and in the end capitulates under pressure. As with anything to do with the Amazon, there are elements of good at work, and elements of evil trying to prevent good from triumphing. Enter Nigel the Cockatoo — remember him from the first film? He survived the plane crash and you just know this means bad news for our family of five birds and two humans who want to help out. A chance encounter sees Blu and family fly overhead of Nigel. Angry and desperate to get revenge, Nigel seeks out two henchmen to help with his plans — an anteater named Charlie and a poison frog named Gabi. Unbeknownst to Nigel, Gabi has feelings for him. This may end up complicating things. Blu and family take a boat to try and get to the jungle but upon arrival, they find nobody there. They are taken to a group of blue macaws that have been hiding in secret — and with good cause — the secret hiding place is a beautiful paradise. Panic ensues: Tulio and Linda are caught and trapped by the loggers. Blu, for his troubles, is having a hard time fitting in with the rest of the macaws, as they are all mistrustful and fearful of humans in general. Their leader, Felipe, is a pretty hostile fellow. He saved a grateful Linda and Tulio and before Big Boss has a chance to detonate Rio 2: One Big Blue Family explosive dynamite, Blu steals it. Blu wants the macaws and the rest of the animals to defend their turf against Big Boss and the immoral logging crew. In the ensuing chaos, Nigel takes advantage and surprises Blu. Fighting ensues — Blu versus Nigel in a web of tangled vines and twigs. Nigel goes out all dramatic and Gabi, heartbroken, decides to join him in an apparent suicide. Big Boss gets his just desserts by way of a very hungry boa constrictor. All is well, the bad guys are vanquished, the good guys are happy and Tulio and Linda have taken the flock into their care and protection. Gabi and Nigel are caught by Tulio and taken back to Rio. Blu and Jewel live in the Amazon with their family and they make a pact to visit Rio, but only in the summer. Kids will enjoy the funny antics, the action and the slapstick comedy. Download Free png Rio: Blu and Friends Rio 2: One Big Blue Family - Rio PNG Photos - The first "Rio" movie was a fairly mediocre animated affair that skated on the charms of its lead voice talents Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway and Leslie Mann. The brightly colored animals and occasional wide overhead shots of Rio almost canceled out the plastic-looking humans, threadbare story and attempts to coolify the film with the presence of will. Eisenberg played up his high-strung persona as Blu, a rare Macaw kept as a pet by Linda Mann in Minnesota, while Hathaway got to act a little spicy as Jewel, the only other blue Macaw around. There Rio 2: One Big Blue Family a small message about the dangers of extinction and animal preservation, with menacing Brazilian animal-nappers getting outsmarted by Linda and an ornithologist named Tulio Rodrigo Santoro. The idea behind "Rio Rio 2: One Big Blue Family seems to be that more is more is better, but it's not; it's just more. The overwhelming feeling one gets from watching "Rio 2" is a strange combination of mental exhaustion and boredom. And there are cute baby blue Macaws, courtesy of Blu and Jewel, and by proxy, the efforts of Linda and Tulio to keep blue Macaws from going extinct. What a double date. The mostly harmless animal advocacy of "Rio" is expanded to include rainforest logging and the very real damage that humans do to the environment. All good topics for small viewers to think about, yes, but the solution "Rio 2" presents is nothing short of ludicrous, if not downright irresponsible. Animated films aren't obligated to have some big social message message, but if you're going to do it, follow through with something that's actually possible Rio 2: One Big Blue Family the real world, or even something that kids could get involve with themselves. Blue Sky Studios is no Pixar, but who is? The studio is behind one of the more popular animated franchise of recent years, "Ice Age" and its four follow-ups. The studio's talent seems to be in animating animals and assorted non-human creatures, because the character Rio 2: One Big Blue Family for the humans in "Rio 2" aren't that distinguishable from the first movie, which was released in The wide shots of Rio and the Amazon rainforest look lovely, although 3D doesn't add too much. Director Carlos Saldanha's love for his native Rio shines through, but that's not quite enough to save the messy, sprawling story. Luckily, there's still an Angry Birds Rio update to look forward to. It was fine. Nothing more, nothing less. Movies Rio 2. Rio 2: One Big Blue Family by Catherine Hapka | Scholastic April 21, They party at Carnival, they eat blueberry pancakes and the kids tie the babysitter to fireworks in a scene I fear younger viewers will want to imitate. One day, they see on television that their Rio 2: One Big Blue Family researcher friends Leslie Mann and Rodrigo Santoro have discovered more Blue Macaws in the Amazon rainforest. Jewel is eager to fly down there and find more of their kind. In pursuit is old nemesis Nigel Jemaine Clementa Rio 2: One Big Blue Family grounded by an unfortunate run-in with an active propeller in the first movie. Her father Eduardo Andy Garciathe leader of the tribe, is overjoyed to see his daughter and the kids, but less so Blu, who he immediately dismisses as soft. The film is top heavy with characters and storylines. I saw no reason for there to be a feud between the blue birds and the red birds over a dwindling food supply, except as a flimsy excuse to set up a sport sequence they say the sport is close to soccer, but it looks suspiciously like Quidditch. The whole storyline exists just so Blu can save the day and to remind us that in movies about cute animals, logging companies are evil. The film should have just let Nigel and his henchmen be the villains; the rest of the obstacles could have just come from the jungle itself. To be honest, the funniest thing about the movie was hearing the girls in the audience squeal over the Bruno Mars character. Adults will be bored Rio 2: One Big Blue Family of their skulls, kids may be entertained, but only because it is junk food. Somehow this franchise has managed to go downhill from a movie that made me sick. News Events Guide About. Related Articles. Admin Court Hearing for Local Most Read This Week. All Rights Reserved..

Abstract: This article aims to analyze the representations of the Brazilian people in the animation Rio (2011), directed by Carlos Saldanha, from the discussions of this concept carried out by different theoretical lines (LUSTOSA, 2013; WITOSLAWSKI, 2005). A Amazônia animada: uma análise pós-colonialista do filme Rio 2 The animated Amazon forest: a postcolonial analysis of the movie Rio 2 Luciana Maira de Sales Pereira1 Resumo: A Amazônia é constantemente representada nas produções cinematográficas nacionais e internacionais. Abstract: The Amazon is constantly represented in national and international cinematographic productions. However, its audiovisual representation is based on the viewpoint, culture and ideology of the person who describes it. Considering the film animation Rio 2, by Carlos Saldanha, a cultural artifact that presents a discourse about the Amazon Rainforest, this article aims to analyze how the verbal and imaginary discursive production of Saldanha’s animation reproduces stereotyped images about the Amazon region. Keywords: Amazon; Cinema; Animation; Colonialism.

Combat in Cities: The LA Riots and Operation Rio by Mr. William W. Mendel Foreign Military Studies Office, Fort Leavenworth, KS. July 1996 "They are . the post-modern equivalent of jungles and mountains--citadels of the dispossessed and irreconcilable. A military unprepared for urban operations across a broad spectrum is unprepared for tomorrow."1 Ralph Peters "Our Soldiers, Their Cities" INTRODUCTION The U.S. military experience during the 1992 Los Angeles Riots and the 1995 experience of the Brazilian Armed Forces in countering criminals in Rio de Janeiro offer insights for civilian and military leaders. These kinds of domestic support operations have made the military-law enforcement nexus an important dimension of today's national security environment. They underscore the importance of up-to-date procedures for interagency coordination, and renewed military doctrine and training. Lawlessness and organized crime are increasingly necessary components of national security analysis and military planning.2 For example, the U.S. National Security Strategy (NSS) of 1996 has identified international crime as a national security threat requiring the same military mission support previously extended to countering terrorism and illicit drugs. The Strategy projects an increasing linkage of military and law enforcement establishments in counter-crime missions.3 Criminal activity is woven into many security threats. Examples are weapons proliferation (including black market trading of nuclear material), the linkages of drug trafficking and other crime to terrorism and insurgency, illegal immigration, and areas in megacities where government control and services have eroded.
