These are three students at boarding school and how they face difficulties in their lives. The film stars Maria Roy, Roma Asrani, Parvati Tiruvotou and Scanda Ashok; Suresh Gopi appeared in a cameo. The film was dedicated to the topic of teenage pregnancy. The film was released on December 15, 2006. It received positive reviews as well as commercial success at the box office. The film won the Kerala State Film Awards for the second prize for best film and film for best film, Malayalam. The film's plot begins with New Year's Eve celebrations at the Lord's Academy in Ooty while three girls: Sarah Elizabeth (Roma), Puja Krishna (Parvati) and Sridevi (Maria Roy) plant a seedling note that the seedling will stay forever, even after they have graduated from school and will symbolize their friendship. Three years later the trio in the 11th grade and the seedlings they planted grew into a Venus tree (named after the goddess of love). Girls from different families : Sarah from a broken house, with her separated parents (Aishwarya and Suresh Gopi), but still she supports a brave character, Sridevi, who is a very kind and sensitive character from a happy, close-knit family, with her parents (Sukunaya and Prem Prakash) doting on her, and Pooja, an ambitious, schoolgirl who is a single parent of a child staying with her mother when they have problems with each other. But on other issues, they believe in solving problems on their own. Sridevi falls in love with a classmate of Sooraj Menon (Scanda Ashok). Although hesitant at first, Sarah and Puja approve of their love after being convinced of The Sincerity of Sooraj. During a tour of Goa, Svidevi and Sooraj do love, and eventually she became pregnant, to shock Sarah and Pooja, and besides herself. They keep the news to themselves for fear of the grief and anger of Sridevi's parents; even Sooraj kept in the dark for fear that news might leak. They decide to have an abortion in a small hospital near their school. During the Celebration of Founder's Day at the school, the trio sneaks out of the campus and reaches the hospital. Pooja watches outside the hospital while Sarah and Sridevi go and they convince the gynecologist for an abortion several lies, including that Sridevi had been raped. During the abortion, Sridevi suffers from excessive blood loss and dies. Sarah and Puja are horrified to flee the hospital and return to school. The next day they were summoned to the principal's office, and the doctor who came to the school as part of the investigation identified Sarah. Sarah admits that the rape story was a lie, and Sridevi actually had sex with someone she loves, but she claims she doesn't know who it is. Puja, who considers her future important, distances himself from the entire episode, leaving Sarah confused and angry. The headmaster, concerned that the school does not register a police case, dismisses Sarah from the school. Puja, now ashamed and dismayed by what she has done, tries to apologize to Sarah, but encounters hostility. Puja loses her mental stability, unable to accept the pressure of losing two best friends together - one to death and the other to her own betrayal. Years later, on the day of Sarah's graduation, she receives a letter claiming to be from Sridevi. In the letter, she says Puja has been in a psychiatric hospital for six years and needs Sarah's company. Sarah, returning to Ooty, learns that Puja was discharged from a psychiatric hospital. They realize how much they miss each other and return to their school campus on Venus (the tree they planted while they were in school). Starring from left: Parvati, Scanda Ashok, Roma and Maria Roy (below) in the promotional yet Maria Roy as Sreedevi, a relatively quiet girl. She is the creator of the truce when they disagree on any issue. Roma Asrani as Sarah Elizabeth. From a broken family. She's always ready to help anyone. Parvati Tiruvothu - Puja Krishnan, a smart student and a very practical mind. Scanda Ashok as Suraj Menon, Sridevi Aishwarya's lover as Elizabeth, Sarah Sieta's mother as Puja's mother Prem Prakash as Swaminatan, Sridevi Sukanya's father as Sridevi Ravedran's mother as Arati's doctor as Swapina Meho Joseph as Feroz, student Suresh Gopi as the mother of Alexander Director Roshan Andrews says: Although it cost a fortune to shoot there, it proved perfect. I visited many schools in Kerala but couldn't find what I wanted. Other filming locations included Ground Medical College and the Indian Institute of Management in Kozhikoda. Casting the film was made through open calls. According to the director, the cast was selected from 5000 applicants. The film was produced by Grihalakshmi Films, a family drama company. The budget of the film was ₹18 million dollars. Soundtrack All Songs written by debutant Meho Joseph. Hrudayavum - Vinet Srinivasan, Jyotsna Changathikoottam Rimi Tomi, Sayanora Philippe, Afsal, Vidhu Prathap Iniyum - KJ Yesudas, Manjari As we all know - Donan, Ramya, Swapna, Vinaita release film was released on December 15, 2006. A critical response from a reviewer from Sify, complementing Andrews for taking a taboo subject and casting newcomers, found the film unimpressive in general, and gave a verdict as ho-hum, just average. The review Varnachitram.com generally positive, calling it an interesting film. However, the reviewer considered that the first half is required to reach the first point of the story. He goes on to say that the line in the story would read Boy and Girl fall in love, but stretching it for the entire first half was, say, a stretch. The reviewer praised the direction and script when the main theme of the film is engaged. He also sueded the director for extracting great performances from newcomers. The review OneIndia.com, although he initially commented that there are times when you may feel more obsessed with periods and pregnancy than the story itself, later adding that the real theme of the film seems to be something very relevant in changing times today - the need for a strong family and a support base. Overall, the Rediff.com was negative. The reviewer considered that the biggest obstacle this film suffers is the fact that none of the characters is real, believable. However, he adds that the bright spot is that a bunch of newcomers have put some exuberance into a riotous film. Almost universal praise for the music for the film received debutant Meho Joseph, who also plays a role in the film, and for the cinematography of K. Ivakar. In an interview, director Roshan Andrews said that even the most famous directors of Malayalam - Priyadarshan, Satyan Antiad, Sibi Malail, Joshi, Jayarraj, Lal Jose and I.V. Sasi - saw the film and personally called him and said that it was not only good, but also touching. Box office Film was shot with a budget of 3.₹3.5 crore. The film slowly began at the box office, but the collections gradually splacked. In its first week, it received a share of distributor ₹3.8 million from 35 screens. The film completed the 140th theatrical run. 2006 Kerala State Film Awards Second Best Film - Rossan Arrives and. V. Gangadharan Best Costume Designer - B. Dick famously observed about science fiction that ‘Jules Verne’s story of travel to the moon is not SF because they go by rocket but because of where they go. It would be as much SF if they went by rubber band’ (Dick 1995: 57). A remark like that is peculiarly resonant in postcolonial spaces where historical experience tends to be framed as a story of travel, as a destinal narrative1 in which modernity is simul- taneously a destination to be reached and the ensemble of mechanisms destined to accelerate the journey. However, in recent decades, the helical loop of this narrative appears to be unravelling. Neither the vision nor the vehicle of modernization is any longer monopolized by the state or the older national elites, and earlier conceptions of a shared Third World identity forged by imperial exploitation and industrial backwardness do not typify the global South uniformly today.
