Chapter 24, Resolves of 1950, is as follows: Resolved, That the department of public works, acting through its division of waterways, shall proceed forthwith to make a survey and measurement of all ponds within the commonwealth which are or formerly were great ponds, including ponds whose area has been in- creased by artificial flowing but in which is included in part a natural great pond. Said department shall report to the general court on or before December thirty-first of the current year, giving the names and the locations of the ponds which have definitely been determined to be great ponds, and shall annually report on December thirty-first thereafter until the status of all ponds which are or may have been great ponds has been definitely established.
