Starting the walk in the early hours of the morning was a challenge for us all, however, the adrenalin and excitement of all the teams together helped us to make a great start. Our tactics were to move slow and steady, but as the march began we just couldn’t help ourselves. Our pace stayed comfortable, but swift and we overtook numerous other teams and short water breaks helped us to maintain momentum. Our tactics progressed to include unlimited Shania Twain songs and other renditions, ensuring we didn’t go unnoticed. High morale and constant supply of Haribo kept us going and we encouraged other teams who may have been struggling, especially cadet teams.
