Thomas and directed by Josh. The film stars Mohanlal, Mammutti, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram and Dillep, and was produced and distributed by actor Dillep through Graand Production and Manjunatha Release. The film was produced on behalf of the Association of Malayalam Film Chronicles (AMMA) as a fundraiser to financially support actors who are struggling in the Malayalam film industry. All AMMA members worked without pay to raise funds for their Social Security programs. The film features an ensemble of actors, which includes almost all AMMA artists. The music was written by Bernie-Ignatius and Suresh Peters. The share of the first two weeks of the film's distributors was ₹5.72 crore ($800,000). The film managed to gain a foothold in the third position (with 7 prints, 4 in Chennai) in the box office of Tamil Nadu in the first week. The total number of introductory engravings produced inside Kerala was 117; some 25 prints were released outside Kerala on November 21, 2008, including 4 prints in the United States and 11 engravings in the UAE. The film grossed a total of ₹32.6 kronor ($4.6 million). It was the highest-grossing film in Malayalam cinema until 2013. Retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Viswanathan Menon and his wife return home to celebrate Visha with their children and grandchildren, and hope to spend the rest of their lives in peace. A large family together arrives and prepares to celebrate over the weekend, but plans go awry when Menon's grandson Arun Kumar, a medical student in Bangalore, is accused of killing fellow students. Police Chief Antoni Punenkkadan, who has a grudge against Menon's children, tries to take Arun into custody. Arun hides, but Antony finds him and captures him from hiding. The Menon family hires a criminal lawyer Ramesh Nambiar, who rescues Arun from prison. Vinod Bhaskar, a doctor and professor of medicine, wants to testify against Arun, but kidnapped Karinkal Pappachan, a bandit hired by Menon's children. Arun is killed, and Superintendent Punnekkadan arrests Devan, a poor trafficker who was at the scene. Devan's sister and his mother tell Ramesh that Dewan is innocent and that he was framed by Punnekkadan. Ramesh takes up the case, proves Devana in court, and Devan is released. A few minutes after his release, Ramesh meets Devan, who presents himself as Devaraja Pratap Varma, a criminal authority. It turned out that Devaraja and his assistants had deceived Ramesh, believing that Dewaraj was innocent. Devaraja shows that he is a real killer and that he deceived Ramesh in retaliation for the salvation of Arun. Dewaraj plans to avenge the brutal murders of his brother Carthik Varma, who was killed by Arun and his cousins Mahindran and Ganeshan. This causes animosity between Devaraja and Ramesh. When Devarajah tries to kill the last two relatives involved in the crime, Ramesh creates a trap. Devaraja escapes, but is eventually arrested by Superintendent Punnekkadan. Ramesh learns the truth about the murder at Bangalore Medical College by Vinod Bhasher, who is there a teacher and a close friend of Dewaraji. Sister Ramesh Ashwati is a student at Bangalore Medical College when she witnesses the murder of Arun girl at school. Arun, along with his two relatives Mahindrun and Ganeshan, detained Ashwati, administered morphine to her, and Arun raped her. Aswati Karthik's boyfriend tries to save her, but he is killed, and Aswati falls into a coma. When Ramesh learns that Devaraja actually tried to kill the criminals by desecrating his sister, he is full of remorse. He remembers when Dewaraj warned him that he would regret knowing the truth. Devaraja escapes from custody with the help of a policeman and kills Ganeshan. Ramesh then kills Mahindran, and Superintendent Anthony kills his father, Arun Madhavan. The case is abandoned when the superintendent allows them to go free knowing that otherwise they will escape anyway. The script was written by Uday Krishna and Sibi K Thomas. As a producer, Dillep was the main investor in the project and bought the film rights for $40 million. The Kerala High Court issued a stay-at-the-job preventing the government's planned action allowing a 50% premium to be levied on tickets if the plaintiff argued that the state had the right to offer only tax breaks for making films. Indian review site Sify.com described the ensemble cast as the mother of all multi-stars. The site called the film stylish, colorful and never boring super-conference. Rediff.com praised the film 3/5, calling it surprisingly good and praised director Joshi for developing a miracle. He also won the Asianet Film Award for Best Film. He completed 100 days in 10 centers, and received a distribution share of about ₹ 10.5 crore ($1.5 million) from Kerala alone. The film grossed a total of ₹32.6 crore ($4.6 million). It was the highest-grossing film in the history of Malayalam cinema for five years, until the film Disham crossed the record set by Twenty:20 in 2014. The plot tells the story of the encounters of Thomas, an employee of the Indian Tax Service, who is gentle Sherlock Toms because of his insightful intelligence and sharp surveillance skills. The film was released on September 29, 2017. The young Thomas Joy is a passionate fan of Sherlock Holmes, a character created by Arthur Conan Doyle. His friends call him Sherlock Toms because of his sharp surveillance skills. Despite some childhood difficulties he grows up to be an IRS officer, but has a troubled relationship with his wife Reha, whom he married by accident. Tom is suffering from the failure of a raid he planned for the Cheat Foundation Company and his subsequent suspension. Tom attributes this to his wife's behavior and argues with her. She calls the police and claims tom hit her. He then faces court cases brought by Rekha and cheat fund company. When it becomes obvious that his lawyer fails to prove his innocence, Tom loudly threatens to commit suicide. The judge orders Tom to undergo psychiatric treatment, but during the turmoil he runs and accidentally enters the office of the cheat company, from where he demands the cancellation of his suspension and divorce from Reha.

The study was carried out in Anambra State. The population for the study was 108 respondents comprising 83 extension officer and 25 bee farmers in Anambra State. No sampling was made because the population was manageable. A 29 item structured questionnaire on competencies needed was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts. Cronbach Alpha was used to determine the internal consistency of the instrument which yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.73. Mean with standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while t-test analysis was used for the test of the hypothesis formulated. It was found that the bee farmers possess fourteen (14) competencies examined in this study at low extent. The study also showed that the fifteen (15) ways of enhancing the competencies identified in the study were reliable enough to enhance bee farmers competencies investigated. More so, the finding regarding the null hypothesis revealed that the null hypothesis tested at 0.05 level of significance was not rejected. Therefore, bee farmers enhancement depend on the relevant and appropriate extension education adopted by extension officers in delivering the extension packages.

Kimmel (2004) in “Masculinity as Homophobia: Fear, Shame, and Silence in the Construction of Gender Identity,” argues that manhood is demonstrated for other men’s approval and it is other men who evaluate the performance. Hence, masculinity is a homosocial enactment and men test themselves, perform heroic feats, and take enormous risks so that other men would grant them manhood. It is in this context that this paper attempts to analyze the visual icons of the so called ‘abnormal’ heroes performed by Dileep one of the South Indian actors, and demonstrate how these roles of the hero as disabled (such as hunchbacked, mentally and physically challenged, with cleft lip and speech impediments) and cross dresser, representing a non-hegemonic section of the society displace the mainstream dominant notions of masculinity in Malayalam cinema. The study would be structured in such a way, giving a short introduction on the kinds of roles performed by Dileep that involve a series of disabled/deformed/abnormal male heroes that do not confirm to the dominant perception of the hero figure in the backdrop of the theories on masculinities. All of these movies- Kunjikoonan, 2002 (directed by Sasi Shanker), Chanthupottu, 2005 ( directed by Lal Jose), Pachakuthira, 2006 (directed by Kamal), Sound Thoma,2013 (directed by Vyshak) that had Dileep performing the disabled, cross dressing, deformed hero figures went on to become box office success and introduced new figures of manliness.
