Water Solutions Desalination inge Seawater Case Study TUAS (TDP) SINGAPORE The challenge Fast Facts TDP which began operation in 2018 is Singapore’s third desalination plant after Location / Commissioning: TUAS, SingSpring & Tuas South. With TDP, PUB (Singapore’s National Water Authority) meets Singapore / 2017 up to 30% of Singapore’s water needs. It is also Singapore’s first desalination plant to be owned and operated by PUB. Application / Market: Pretreatment RO / The challenge was to fit the entire plant in 3.5ha, the smallest of the country’s Drinking Water desalination facilities. It will remain so even after the next two desalination plants are Water type: Seawater built in Marina East and Jurong Island by 2020. UF Capacity: 12,083 m³/h = 289 MLD The solution [76.6 MGD] In terms of the amount of water purified for its size, TDP is the most space efficient Contractor / End User: Tedagua / desalination plant in the world and the most technologically advanced. TDP is the first HSL / PUB Desal Plant in Singapore to use advanced pre-treatment technology, a combination of dissolved air flotation and ultrafiltration and also the first to use solar power System configuration: 24 x 112 (2,688 in total) The benefits Rack / Module type: T-Rack® 3.0 / Since commissioning, the plant operates successfully at design parameters with a dizzer® XL 0.9 MB 70 WT recovery rate of 94% despite inlet fluctuations of up to 100 NTU turbidity with zero fiber breakage. The ultrafiltration technology is an excellent pretreatment in order to prevent UF feed water quality: TSS 10 mg/L / membrane fouling and thus helping to double the lifespan of RO membranes. In April DOC 3 mg/L 2019, Tuas Desalination Plant (TDP) was named the Desalination Plant of the Year at the Flux approx.: 75 l/(m²h) [44 gfd] 2019 Global Water Awards. CEB: caustic + chlorine / acid once a day Optional Coagulant CIP: n.a. Recovery: 94% DAF Strainer UF RO The descriptions, designs, data and product information contained herein are presented in good faith and are based on inge GmbH’s current knowledge and experience. inge GmbH cannot accept any liability for the accuracy of this product information, which is provided at no charge and for guidance only. inge® products are designed to be operated in accordance with the corresponding inge® product documentation.
