Adriatic On the SEA CLOUD and SEA CLOUD II 2011 LEGENDARY

BEGUILING

INCOMPARABLE

The SEA CLOUD: the greatest windjammer legend of all time.

At its launch in 1931, the SEA CLOUD was the most magnificent sailing in the world, a masterpiece of shipbuilding and the last private four-mast boat ever to have been built. Every detail reveals the originality of that time; every extra- vagance shows the charming individuality of its original owners, the millionaire couple Marjorie Merriweather-Post and Edward Hutton. The chequered past of the SEA CLOUD reads like an exciting novel in which a piece of world history has been recorded.

2011 marks the start of another exciting chapter as our legend celebrates her 80th birthday by leaving the shipyard in Bremerhaven to glide glamorously back out to the sea once again.

You will have no problem finding your own favourite place on this birthday cruise, whether this is at the Blue Lagoon at the stern with a view over the open sea, or the bench next to the bridge in the shadows of the front sail with the horizon straight ahead.

Everyone will soon be enchanted by her magic as for many the SEA CLOUD is the real highlight of the trip. Quite simply, she still is the most magnificent wind- jammer legend of all time. CLASSIC

NOSTALGIC

ELEGANT

The SEA CLOUD II: nostalgic flair with a modern twist.

There is something special about the SEA CLOUD II, this becomes clear as soon as you step on board. This has mastered the art of bringing everything and everyone together – combining the tradition of sailing with modern life, and cosy nostalgia with a great deal of freedom. The windjammer has the luxury of being small but perfectly formed – there are only 29 deluxe outside cabins, 16 junior suites and two owner suites spread over three decks. Therefore, discerning crui- sers can discover their passion for real sailing , whilst sailing enthusiasts will become devotees of great voyages.

The time of day, you will be impressed by the tranquil atmosphere of the library, the bar and the restaurant with their stunning sea views. Enjoy the soft tones of the Steinway piano in the spacious lounge. Sporty types will be attracted to the gym and the sauna. And depending on sea conditions, the swim platform provides direct access to the largest swimming pool in the world – the sea. There is always a new favourite place to sit waiting to be discovered on the bridge or lido deck, whilst in the restaurant a new table with new perspectives will be ready for you at every mealtime. It is left up to you to choose where, when and with whom you sit down for a meal.

The fine menus created in the kitchens will delight even the most discerning gourmets. Indeed, the SEA CLOUD II has already been given the honour of being accepted by the international Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

The Adriatic shows its wild and charming side

Sometimes a sparkling blue sea is enough in itself to make you feel great, and a gentle stroll around town can often transport you straight back to a city’s glorious past.

The course of SEA CLOUD and SEA CLOUD II is the best sailing waters Europe has to offer. Along the craggy coastlines of Croatia and the Peloponnese, local character and traditions have always been not only encouraged but also proudly displayed. The towns and cities on the Adriatic hide themselves behind impressive forti- fications, though not from life itself. The imposing fortresses in Dubrovnik and on Malta, which once served to deter the enemy, now have a magical appeal. Likewise the amphitheatre in Pula, the mediaeval town of Korcula, the Diocletian Palace in Split and the ruins of Butrint in Albania all trace back to a distant past. The Adriatic also has a greener side. Crossing the Bay of Kotor the spectacular fjord scenery fascinates, walking in the National Park of Mljet the tranquility and seclusion of the island impresses and the picturesque waterfalls near Sibenik Krka enchant.

The windjammers set their white sails and head for places where nature is truly spectacular and cultural treasures appear in all their glory. Following the course of the Venetians across the Adriatic: Malta – Venice
