A todos, o meu sincero obrigada! 8 RESUMO A discussão deste trabalho perpassa as análises das legendas disponibilizadas na televisão brasileira. A comunicação é parte primordial do processo de interação, socialização e vivência em sociedade. Uma sociedade democrática, com participação social e sujeitos emancipados, é o lugar ideal para a construção dos direitos fundamentais do ser humano. O problema que nos impulsiona é que a pouca oferta de legendas, sua baixa qualidade e problemas em geral de acessibilidade impossibilitam que as pessoas surdas/deficientes auditivas consigam receber e usar as informações de forma igualitária, autônoma e protagonista. O estudo teve como objetivo geral criar um instrumento que auxilie os usuários de legendas a fazerem sua própria avaliação. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa, com caráter interdisciplinar, com abordagem teórica fundamentada em autores que discutem a comunicação e a linguagem como pressupostos da democracia, para a participação social e a emancipação do sujeito, como Habermas, por meio da Teoria da Ação Comunicativa, Bourdieu, com a Economia das trocas Linguísticas e Bobbio com Estado, Governo e Sociedade. Além destes, outros autores temáticos discutem sobre a educação de surdos, a inclusão e as tecnologias da informação e comunicação na contemporaneidade. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de revisão bibliográfica, análise documental, estudo de recepção e estudo de painel. Os resultados indicam que os recursos de acessibilidade investigados não possuem um padrão, que apenas algumas legendas seguem as orientações advindas da normativa e que são distintos os níveis de recepção entre surdos, DAs e ouvintes da televisão. Espera-se que este estudo possa contribuir para a melhoria da ferramenta legendas, oportunizando aos seus usuários um acesso igualitário. Palavras-chave: Educação, Inclusão, Deficiente Auditivo; Tecnologia da Informação e Comunicação; Televisão; Legenda. 9 ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the available subtitles on Brazilian Television. Communication is a core process aspect of living in a society, that is, it means the socialization and interaction. A democratic society, with a social participation and emancipated individuals, is the ideal place for building up the basis of human rights. The main aspect which drives us forward is that there are few subtitles options, its low quality and accessibility which make them difficult to people deaf/hearing impairment to be well informed in an equal, autonomous way as a protagonist. The aim of this study was to develop a tool in order to help subtitles users to do their own assessment. It is a qualitative and quantitative study with an interdisciplinary aspect and a theoretical approach based on authors who discuss communication and language as a presupposition for the democracy , social participation and emancipation of the individual, such as Habermas with the Theory of Communicative Action and Bourdieu with the Economy of Linguistics exchanges, Bobbio with State, Government and Society, beside using theme authors whose discussion is about deaf , hearing impairment, inclusion, information technology and Communication in the Contemporaneity. Research was performed by bibliographic review, documents analysis, reception and panel study. Results showed there is no standard accessibility resource; only few subtitles meet the standard accessibility policies and the level of reception are distinct among deaf people, HI, and TV listeners. It is expected this study can contribute for improving subtitles tools for giving opportunity to users an equal access.     The Uses of Animation 1 1 The Uses of Animation ANIMATION Animation is the process of making the illusion of motion and change by means of the rapid display of a sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other. The illusion—as in motion pictures in general—is thought to rely on the phi phenomenon. Animators are artists who specialize in the creation of animation. Animation can be recorded with either analogue media, a flip book, motion picture film, video tape,digital media, including formats with animated GIF, Flash animation and digital video. To display animation, a digital camera, computer, or projector are used along with new technologies that are produced. Animation creation methods include the traditional animation creation method and those involving stop motion animation of two and three-dimensional objects, paper cutouts, puppets and clay figures. Images are displayed in a rapid succession, usually 24, 25, 30, or 60 frames per second. THE MOST COMMON USES OF ANIMATION Cartoons The most common use of animation, and perhaps the origin of it, is cartoons. The most important factor about making cartoons on a computer is reusability and flexibility.     Interactive Television for Young Children: Developing Design Principles Ana Vitoria Joly Hulshof A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements of the University of Brighton for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy September 2010 University of Brighton Abstract The research reported in this thesis investigates preschoolers‟ interactions with interactive television applications. The study involved the development of an electronic programme guide prototype and the empirical evaluation thereof. There were three main aims. The first aim was to analyse children‟s interactions and illustrate them in a framework to further understanding of the way preschoolers interact with the television. The second aim was to contribute design principles for preschool interactive television and the third aim was to refine methods and add to the knowledge of design and evaluation techniques involving young children. This research, which involved design and evaluation phases, was carried out with children in Brazil and in the United Kingdom aged between three and four. Children participated actively as informants and were asked for input at various stages of the project. Their participation during design activities and evaluation sessions was crucial to the constitution of the framework, the development of design principles and the refinement of methods for working with preschoolers. The results revealed that young children‟s interactions with interactive television are influenced by: the children‟s age, motor skills, country context, media and device use and knowledge. These factors along with the input device used for interaction and characteristics of the interactive television application determine the number of accomplishable tasks, the time taken to accomplish the tasks, the complexity of the tasks that can be accomplished, the hints and assistance as well as interactions needed to accomplish the tasks.

O foco principal recai sobre as séries originais Globoplay. Para embasar as discussões, discorremos sobre os sistemas de broadcasting, narrowcasting e streaming, destacando o cenário brasileiro, mas também abordando o atual cenário internacionalizado de produção de conteúdos. Em termos de composição do catálogo de séries originais Globoplay, observamos a diacronia da plataforma, as estratégias combinadas de lançamentos de títulos, o redirecionamento para inclusão de conteúdo licenciado e para o lançamento de séries originais exclusivas. Esse movimento reforça a intenção de estabelecer a plataforma como um dos importantes players do mercado de streaming SVOD no Brasil. However, there has been no official comment on the rumours about the resignation, which if true would mean scrapping the grilling filed two weeks ago by three MPs over alleged violations, especially the payment of the $2.2 billion penalty to US’ Dow Chemical. Hussein submitted his resignation to the prime minister along with all Cabinet members two weeks ago after MPs surprised everyone by filing two requests to grill the ministers. In the meantime, Hussein carried out one of the biggest reshuffle in the oil sector, replacing the chief exec- utive officers of all the eight companies under Kuwait Petroleum Corp. The shakeup also included replacing the chief execu- tive officer of KPC Farouq Al-Zanki, who was replaced by Nezar Al- Adasani. A number of MPs swiftly welcomed the reported resignation but no one confirmed the report. MP Abdullah Al- Tameemi said the accept- Hani Hussein ance of the resignation of the oil minister was “long over- due” but called for following the issue on the payment of Dow penalty in court.

    Hindu Sevika Samiti (UK) Mahila Shibir 2020 East and South Midlands Vibhag FOREWORD INSPIRING AND UNPRECEDENTED INITIATIVE In an era of mass consumerism - not only of material goods - but of information, where society continues to be led by dominant and parochial ideas, the struggle to make our stories heard, has been limited. But the tides are slowly turning and is being led by the collaborative strength of empowered Hindu women from within our community. The Covid-19 pandemic has at once forced us to cancel our core programs - which for decades had brought us together to pursue our mission to develop value-based leaders - but also allowed us the opportunity to collaborate in other, more innovative ways. It gives me immense pride that Hindu Sevika Samiti (UK) have set a new precedent for the trajectory of our work. As a follow up to the successful Mahila Shibirs in seven vibhags attended by over 500 participants, 342 Mahila sevikas came together to write 411 articles on seven different topics which will be presented in the form of seven e-books. I am very delighted to launch this collection which explores topics such as: The uniqueness of Bharat, Ramayan ki Kathayen, Pandemic and the Hindu way of life and The contribution of Hindu women, amongst others. From writing to editing, content checking to proofreading, the entire project was conducted by our Sevikas. This project has revealed hidden talents of many mahilas in writing essays and articles. We hope that these skills are further encouraged and nurtured to become good writers which our community badly lacks.

On May II, Baruch held its annual Spring Fling at the Armory. With music bOOri'tmg over their voices and while chewing on delicacies such as candied apples, the smiling students milled about and attempted to win various prizes from the booths. "It was cool." said Tracy, a partic­ ipant. "The laser tag was the best." ..It was fun." concurred Rafael, another participant. Those who organized the event seemed happy with the turnout as well. , "It was extremely successful," said Luz Rodriguez. Assistant Director of the' Office of Student Life, which organized it. ..It was -sat- ­ isfying to know that with all the work we put into it...students. faculty, and administrators were happy.'
