List complete as of December 1, 2015 GEORGE C. MARSHALL FOUNDATION

Rare are those individuals who shape the course of world events as George C. Marshall did before, during and after World War II. The Marshall Foundation, located in Lexington, Virginia, perpetuates the legacy of General Marshall’s life and leadership as Army Chief of Staff during World War II, Secretary of State (Marshall Plan) and Secretary of Defense during the Korean War by educating new generations about his role in many of the greatest events of the 20th century that influence issues affecting our nation and the world in the 21st century.

As the keeper of the flame, the Marshall Foundation preserves and commu - nicates the remarkable story of the life and times of George C. Marshall and his contemporaries. It has become a unique, national treasure. Marshall’s achievements are interpreted for the public in the Marshall Museum and through the popular Marshall Legacy Series. The Library and Archives con - tain more than one million documents, 2,700 maps from World Wars I and II, 900 posters from World Wars I and II, and the famous series of Marshall Plan information posters produced in Europe following World War II in a growing collection of documents, artifacts and books. Accommodating increasing interest in the research and study of this period, the Foundation has put much of this material online on its website. Current and future generations must learn about George C. Marshall— leader, visionary, strategist, and statesman. The Foundation’s challenge is to return Marshall to the public consciousness so more people, particularly young people, have an opportunity to learn from his example. He said it well years ago: “It is hard to believe that a man familiar with the history of the centuries could fail to guide his course somewhat by the lessons of the past.” We Salute You

Congratulations to General John P. Jumper, recipient of the Andrew J. Goodpaster award. We salute your extraordinary leadership, fearless courage, and selfless dedication to the nation. GEORGE C. MARSHALL FOUNDATION LEADERSHIP
