The site of the verancular industrial plant developed by Ralph Hull in 1938 and 1939 is a location on the Southern Pacific railhead known as Dawson Station. Even though an earlier sawmill had occupied the site since 1919, industrial-capacity electrical service did not extend to this rural location before 1949.
