Calvert Green Summer Newsletter Registered Charity No: 1104354 Hello everyone, CGCA Welcome Well it looks as though Summer may now be with us. About time I say after our prolonged Winter and Spring! We have had a quiet time since our last newsletter and the only major event we had was the Tidy Up. It went very well and was supported by a merry band of helpers who managed to find bags and bags of rubbish around the greens and roads. A huge thank you to those of you who turned out to help. On Father’s Day Tony and Lilian Pringle organised the Calvert Green Dog Show under CGCA’s umbrella. Despite the slightly inclement weather the event was well attended and received. Many thanks to Tony & Lilian for or- ganising this and to the WI who catered the afternoon. The whole event raised £253.00. Half of this amount has been donated to the Dogs for the Disabled charity and the other half was sent to the Bernese Carters who once again turned out for the community. The Bernese Carters have for- warded their donation to the Search Dogs for Buckinghamshire. All in all it seems that some very worthwhile causes benefitted from the afternoon. A huge thanks to all who attended and helped at the Summer Party! We hope you enjoyed the change from the Summer Fayre and liked the enter- tainment. We were all very excited about our challenge to Glastonbury and are so pleased it went well and thank goodness for the wonderful weather! We have also organised some summer events during the school holidays in conjunction with Aylesbury Vale District Council and these include the play in the villages which have been so successful in the past.
