(SA) UNDER 14 GIRLS' WATER POLO TOURNAMENT, Johannesburg 21dc10f3-09f9-480a-9029-27aba98587582014 Roedean U14 Girls Water Polo Tournament RESULTS -final-_16 October 2014 Tournament Rules 2014 ROEDEAN SCHOOL (SA) UNDER 14 GIRLS' WATER POLO TOURNAMENT, Johannesburg 2014 TOURNAMENT RULES TOURNAMENT RULES Apply and Decisions by the Tournament Director will be FINAL Red Cards issued to Coaches, Officials and Players will receive a MINIMUM of 1 Match Suspension. This will be the next game(s) after the incident. Acts of Brutality and Violence will be Severely Dealt with All Visitors are to note that Right of Admission onto the School Campus is Reserved NB* SPECIFIC TOURNAMENT RULE: NO Direct Goals May be scored by a player from OUTSIDE of the 5-METRE Line from a foul committed, without it first being passed to another player Only players Born in the year 2000 or later, may participate in the Tournament All Games to start on time, unless otherwise determined by the Tournament Director Teams wearing WHITE Caps will start on the LEFT side of the Officials table Tournament Referees will be supplied The Match Referee’s decision during matches is final Games may be Shortened or Re-Scheduled if rain or lightning delays play All teams must be ready to play their games at the stipulated times or else the game and points shall be forfeited by the offending team In the event of a team not arriving, the program will continue as normal. There will be no reshuffling of the program A maximum of 14 players may play in a specific game. If more than 14 players are used in a particular game, the offending team will forfeit the game Please kindly remember that this is a schools tournament. No foul language from players, coaches, parents or spectators will be tolerated. (Not even directed at your own players) No parents/spectators are allowed to make a complaint to the Tournament Director or a Match Referee. Official complaints will only be considered from an official Team Manager or Coach All "Round-Robin Group Stage" Games will be 4 QUARTERS of 5 minutes (4x5) "Stop-Start". There will be NO Time-Outs allowed during Round-Robin Group Stages All "Progression" and "Final Position" Games will be 4 QUARTERS of 5 minutes (4x5) "Stop-Start" with NO Time-Outs allowed (except for the Final Game) The FINAL Game will be allowed 2 Time-Outs (to be taken at any time in the game) Points will be Allocated in the Round-Robin GROUP Stages as Follows: 2 Points for a Win, 1 Point for a Draw and No Points for a Loss Final Round-Robin GROUP Positions will be Determined as Follows: 1. Most Points ~ 2. "Head-to-Head" Result ~ 3. Net Goal Difference ~ 4. Goals For ~ 5. Goals Against ~ 6. Toss of a Coin. (Three-Way Ties will be determined in Isolation in terms of FINA Rules ~ "FINA Bye-Law: BL 9.6.3 Tie Breaking") All PROGRESSION Games will be determined by an immediate Penalty Shoot-Out if still a DRAW after FULL time, 5 per Team followed by "Sudden-Death". (i.e. NO Extra-Time will be played) All FINAL POSITION Games (except the actual "1st/2nd Position FINAL" Game) will have NO extra time played in the case of a DRAW All FINAL POSITION Games (except the actual "1st/2nd Position FINAL" Game) will however be determined by a Penalty Shoot-Out if a DRAW after full-time, 5 per Team followed by "Sudden-Death" The FINAL Game will have 2 Additional Quarters of 3 minutes (2x3) "Stop-Start" extra-time if a DRAW after full-time The FINAL Game will be determined by an immediate Penalty Shoot-Out if still a DRAW after extra-time, 5 per Team followed by "Sudden-Death" All Games will have a 1-Minute break between Quarters (including between any Additional Quarters played), a 3-Minute break at Half-Time and where applicable 1-Minute per Time-Out Medals will be awarded to the Players of the (1) Tournament Winning Team (gold), (2) Tournament Runner-Up Team (Silver) and (3) Tournament Third-Placed Team (Bronze) The Tournament Winning Team will be awarded a Trophy Prizes will also be awarded to the (1) Attacker, (2) Defender and (3) Goal Keeper of the Tournament NO Tournament Team will be Announced at the end of the Tournament Enjoy! And yet we need exactly this thinking to solve our individual, community, organisational and global challenges and create a sustainable future.” - Tania de Jong (award-winning social entrepreneur). Based on this insight, one could argue that creativity needs to be nurtured and en- couraged in children today in order for them to become thought pioneers tomorrow. Developing creative thinkers may be the solution to many of the problems our world faces today. They see the world in new ways and find hidden patterns to unrelated phenomenon. “Creativity is a skill that can be developed and a process that can be managed. Creativity begins with a foundation of knowledge, learning a discipline, and mastering a way of thinking”, taken from a study on The Effectiveness of Creativity Training by George Land. It requires practice and a supportive environment in which to flourish. Every child has the potential to be creative and the school curriculum needs to provide opportunities for pupils to explore and enhance their creativity. Education is an exciting journey and imagination, originality and resourcefulness are vital in this journey. Schools need to encourage experimentation and allow for failure. Children need to be brave and take risks. In the lower grades, the focus needs to be more on process and less on results. Creative children are flexible, adapt more easily to change and have the ability to turn challenges into opportunities.
