Saturday 11 June: Field trip Upper Solomon Spur NOTE: Not Saturday 4 June. Botanise this spur in the Wainuiomata Catchment. Check the plant list prepared by our previous trip which reached c. 380 m, then expand the list as we climb to c. 630 m at the Old Whakanui Track. Monday 20 June: Evening meeting Propagation of NZ native plants Speaker: Jill Broome, Plant Collections Supervisor, Percy Scenic Reserve, Lower Hutt, will describe propagation techniques she uses when growing indigenous plants, and discuss successes and failures owing to timing and methods, and old-fashioned methods versus modern equipment.
