Terry Brown, Heilala Pita and Tahi Rua Toru Tech Challenge Mary Zhang (left to right) won the Regional Finals for the Tahi Rua Toru Regional Finals Tech Challenge. The competition involves small teams of 3-4 students completing a project-based challenge which solves a problem in their local school or community using digital technologies – and having fun along the way! The competition helps students work through the entire process of problem solving. In a digital tech context this includes defining a problem, experimenting on possible solutions, taking guidance from industry mentors, creating a solution and reflecting on it.Their challenge was to make a digital game which taught students about sustainability. Terry, Heilala, Mary and Mrs Corbin are heading to the National Finals on 5th December in , where the team will present their game to a Dragon’s Den style judging panel. 15 Japanese
