We try to tailor our approach based upon the diagnosis, the patient’s condition and their own wishes.” Depending on the diagnosis, he says that other options might include radiation, chemotherapy, ablation therapy, freezing, immunotherapy or watchful waiting. Dr. Whang graduated from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in 2001, and did residencies in general surgery at New York Medical College, Westchester Medical Center, and in cardiothoracic surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine, Yale-New Haven Hospital. Board-certified in thoracic surgery, he has been with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and taught surgery at Harvard Medical School since 2013. Dr. Rochefort graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2009 and did a residency in general surgery and a research residency in surgical oncology at the University of California Los Angeles, David Geffen School of Medicine, as well as a residency in thoracic surgery
