Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova 29 Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova Jahja Drançolli* Abstract In the present study it is examined the issue of Illyrian- Albanian continuity in the areal of Kosova, a scientific problem, which, due to the reasons of daily policy, has extremely become exploited (harnessed) until the present days. The politicisation of the ancient history of Kosova begins with the Eastern Crisis, a time when the programmes of Great-Serb aggression for the Balkans started being drafted. These programmes, inspired by the extra-scientific history dressed in myths, legends and folk songs, expressed the Serb aspirations to look for their cradle in Kosova, Vojvodina. Croatia, Dalmatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Montenegro. Such programmes, based on the instrumentalized history, have always been strongly supported by the political circles on the occasion of great historical changes, that have overwhelmed the Balkans. Key Words: Dardania and Dardans in antiquity, Arbers and Kosova during the Middle Ages, geopolitical, ethnic, religious and cultural concepts, which are known in the sources of that time followed by a chronological development. The region of Kosova preserves archeological monuments from the beginnings of Neolith (6000-2600 B.C.). Since that time the first settlements were constructed, including Tjerrtorja (Prishtinë), Glladnica (Graçanicë), Rakoshi (Istog), Fafos and Lushta (Mitrovicë), Reshtan and Hisar (Suharekë), Runik (Skenderaj) etc. The region of Kosova has since the Bronze Age been inhabited by Dardan Illyrians; the territory of extension of this region was much larger than the present-day territory of Kosova. ISSN2039Ͳ2117MediterraneanJournalofSocialSciencesVol.3(7)April2012 Impact of "Normale" Educational Centre A Significant Factor in the Development of Education in Albania Dr. Jani Sota Faculty of Education University "Aleksander Moisiu", Durres Abstract: The history of education has valued preciously all people involved in it and has flourished into an educational function, teaching and learning of our thorough knowledge in its institutions - such as "Normale" Educational center that played an historic role in the Albanian language. Albanian normal schools have a record of long, difficult, but also glorious path. They were the main homes for generations of teachers and also the place where it was necessary to prepare the framework for education and awareness of the nation. Albanian teachers, in different periods of history had run the greatest risk of extinction of national culture and education. They planted the sound seeds by which had brought the essence of national awareness, which in a century struggle of unparalleled trials tried to revive education, science, culture and Albania. In the history of Albania teachers and veterans of teaching, wherever they worked and acted, played the leading role, contributed as they could with their valuable works, which undoubtedly served to their students, future teachers, in raising subsequently the national level of conscience for their learning and teaching. Key words: Normal school, education, culture, teacher-students, pedagogic thinking, Albanian territory. Introduction Albanian Normal School has a record of long, difficult, but glorious path. Its purpose was to prepare the necessary framework for education and awareness of the nation. Albanian teachers, in different periods of heavy and full of vicissitudes, did valuable work in the moments and the most crucial turning points and run the greatest risks of extinction of our national culture and education.

To detail the mass of suffering which I myself have witnessed would take several volumes of monotonous horror. To unravel the complicated mesh of intrigues and hes would be impossible. I have tried only to tell a plain tale of the main facts that came directly under my notice, and in no w^ay to write a history of the war. One short explanation only I would give. Want of space has forced me to take for granted in my readers a certain amount of knowledge about the scene of action—North Albania—which, as I am aware, is a rash thing to do. Such as desire a detailed " account of the country I must refer to my High Albania." To the others I would state only that Maltsor (sometimes spelt ^lallissor) means merely — viii PREFACE "a mountain-man": from '' mal," a mountain; "' malt," mountains " Maltsor," man of the moun- tains.
