Process for Change h o o It is important that any changes to schools are the right ones and they are carried out l carefully. Therefore, changing the pattern of schools is a long process. O r Step 1 – Developing options g Step 1 a Most schools in the Sudbury and Great n Developing options Cornard area joined the review in 2009. i Head teachers, school governors, parents, s councillors and other stakeholders have a been discussing options during the summer t i term. Information has also been obtained o from architects, planners, highways n specialists and other experts. All these R discussions and the information obtained e have been taken into account in developing preferred options which are consistent with v i the principles in the policy framework. e Where alternative options are consistent w with the principles, these have also been included in this booklet. | 2 Step 2 – Public consultation 8 Step 2 S From September to December 2009, parents, e Public consultation p teachers, young people and many other t groups will have the opportunity to say what e they think about the preferred options. This m booklet sets out what the preferred options b e would look like and responses are invited r on all aspects of the options, including - whether or not you agree that there should 1 be a move to a two-tier system for a 8 particular school or schools. As well as this D booklet, there will be meetings at schools e in the areas affected to explain what is c e being put forward. Anyone will be able to m send in their views using a questionnaire, b by letter, online or by making comments at e one of the meetings. This is not about voting; r one well argued letter may have a greater 2 0 effect than a petition. All responses will be 0 analysed and taken into consideration.
