His Excellency, Bishop Peter J. Jugis, will celebrate a Mass World Feast 2014, October 18th for U.S. military personnel on today, July 6, 2014 at 3:30 pm An Annual Community Event for Families and at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Charlotte. The Mass and Friends to celebrate our diversity with ethnic rosary (to be recited at 3:00 p.m.) will be offered for all food, cultural music, festive dance, and much military personnel who have died and for those who are more! The answer follows: because are needed to prepare food, lead games, serve meals, set-up and they are used to violate Gods reign of peace, tear-down, move trash, sell tickets, find entertainment, and much more! along with the warriors bow. In the days of Zechariah, chariots and horses were high- Look for more information at all masses next Sunday (JulY 13th) priced items used only for war-making. And for his culture, which thought of any king as being a military leader first and foremost, a king riding on a lowlY beast of burden to proclaim peace without horses, chariots, and bows would have set his listeners topsy-turvy. This lowly, beast-riding king of peace, we believe, was fulfilled in Jesus, gentle and humble of heart. In a world torn by military strife often generated by differing religious views, and even in our own lives and homes where we are often at war over the tiniest things, we would do well to stop and consider to what degree we are willing to be like that king whose way of gentleness and humility is the way for us to find rest for our weary souls. • Consecration and Entrustment to Mary
Consecration and entrustment to Mary For centuries, Marian devotions among Roman Catholics have included many examples of personal or collective acts of consecration and entrustment to the Virgin Mary, with the Latin terms oblatio, servitus, commendatio and dedicatio having been used in this context.[2] Consecration is an act by which a person is dedicated to a sacred service, or an act which separates an object, location or region from a common and profane mode to one for sacred use.[3] The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments clarifies that in this context, "It should be recalled, however, that the term "consecration" is used here in a broad and non-technical sense: the expression is use of 'consecrating children to Our Lady', by which is intended placing children under her protection and asking her maternal blessing for them".[2] Consecration to the Virgin Mary by Roman Catholics has taken place from three perspectives, namely personal, societal and regional; and generally in three forms: to the Virgin herself, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to the Immaculata. In Catholic teachings, consecration to Mary does not diminish or substitute the love of God, but enhances it, for all consecration is ultimately made to God.[4] Pope Leo XIII, specially encouraged everyone to make acts of consecration to the Virgin Mary based on the methods of Saint Louis de Montfort. Pope Benedict XV also provided The Blessed Virgin Mary as the strong support for Marian consecration. Virgin of Mercy venerated as The Virgin of the Navigators, 1531–36, Early in the 20th century, Saint Maximilian Kolbe, called the "Apostle of with her protective mantle covering Consecration to Mary", began a vigorous program of promoting consecration to the those entrusted to her.[1] Immaculata.[5] Theologian Garrigou-Lagrange designated personal consecration to Mary as the highest level amongMarian devotions.

  • Compiled from Devout Resources of the Saints' Sites
compiled from devout resources of the Saints' sites. www.saintsprayers.net "That we may pray unceasingly" 1 Thess. 5:17 Herein is contained a compilation of Catholic prayers, quotations, and readings from religious devotional books and the writings of and about the saints. The treasury of wisdom herein is the treasury of Christ Himself for the soul. For these prayers to be of lasting value you must adhere to the one true Church founded by Christ, the Catholic Church and her doctrine as given by Christ while living a life of grace and love God in all your doings, being always aware of your own humble nature. The quotations and readings will be of aid for the mortification of the senses, purgation, understanding of the interior life, repelling of the spiritual enemies of the soul, illumination, and finishing of the spiritual journey to salvation. An example of devotion. Practice the continual remembrance of the Lord. Begin your day with the sign of the cross, invitatory, and morning prayers such as thanksgiving for the night's protection, morning offerings, and the acts of virtue. Examine your conscience and what the day will hold ahead. Pray for these intentions, then pray during the hours of the day, with such as the powerful prayers of the Most Precious Blood for the Holy Souls. Remember the hour of noon, and the hour of three o'clock. Devote every act to Jesus Christ in between the hours. Fast according to your capacity and practice temperance throughout all your acts. At midnight rise and make a devotion.

  • Mariology of the Saints 1 Mariology of the Saints
Mariology of the saints 1 Mariology of the saints Throughout history Roman Catholic Mariology has been influenced by a number of saints who have attested to the central role of Mary in God's plan of salvation.[1] While the Marian teachings of some saints may have been virtually unknown during their own life, they have influenced the Church centuries later. An example is Saint Louis de Montfort who was a priest for only 16 years and had but a handful of followers upon his death at the beginning of the 18th century, yet influenced four popes, namely Leo Madonna and Child with saints by Duccio, 14th century XIII, Pius X, Pius XII and John Paul II who chose his personal motto Totus Tuus based on Montfort's influence. The influence of saints on Mariology continued in the 20th century, with Saint Maximillian Kolbe's focus on the Immaculate Conception and his Immaculata prayer.
