Flannel Daze Is a Grunge/Alternative Rock Cover Band Based in Rockford, Illinois Photo by Joseph Gagliano, Madmann Productions Flannel Daze is a Grunge/Alternative Rock cover band based in Rockford, Illinois. At five members, with decades of experience each, the band offers a professional four hour live show. The band's roster was completed in January of 2017. Since then the band has incorporated into an LLC, raised donations for several local charities in excess of $1000.00, and played two or more shows a month, every month. Personal anthem in the 90's: The Entire “Weird Al Catalog” Ryan took classical singing lessons from an eccentric old cat lady in his 20's. He accredits much of his current level of talent to her. He also now has the ability to endure the dreaded Siamese Yellow Mustache torture. Icon: Kurt Cobain Admits to, in the 90's: Being another Jean Roll victim!! Personal anthem in the 90's: Radiohead: “Creep” Beau was not allowed to play guitar as a kid. He got his first guitar three months before his 18th birthday. Loves Guitar. Guitar loves him. At least that is what he tells himself, and his wife, when the mess is brought up in conversation. Other Facts about the band: 1. 5 out of 5 members spent the 90's deeply steeped in video games. 2. The band is split 3 to 2 in favor of Friends over Seinfeld. A caveat: 2 out of 5 members were split between wanting to pick both, and not wanting to pick either. 3. The band's top 5, of each member's top 5 bands of all time are: Dredg, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, and Pink Floyd 4. The combined IQ of the band is a three digit number. 5. The London Session, was a dream come true for the members having been recorded at the legendary Studio Two at historic Abbey Road. The stealth recording session yielded 10 tracks in a single day, proving once again, the prolific UM waits for no one. As a follow up to The London Session, the envelope pushing continues with the November 11th release of ZONKEY. Umphrey’s McGee has been arranging and performing original mashups live for over eight years. It was only a matter of when, not if, some of those innovative concoctions would find their way into a studio. An album of 12 unique mashups, conceived and arranged by the band, ZONKEY is as seamless as it bizarre, playful as it is razor sharp.

    Existential Songs Full results Supplementary material for Mick Cooper’s Existential psychotherapy and counselling: Contributions to a pluralistic practice (Sage, 2015), Appendix. One of the great strengths of existential philosophy is that it stretches far beyond psychotherapy and counselling; into art, literature and many other forms of popular culture. This means that there are many – including films, novels and songs that convey the key messages of existentialism. These may be useful for trainees of existential therapy, and also as recommendations for clients to deepen an understanding of this way of seeing the world. In order to identify the most helpful resources, an online survey was conducted in the summer of 2014 to identify the key existential films, books and novels. Invites were sent out via email to existential training institutes and societies, and through social media. Participants were invited to nominate up to three of each art media that ‘most strongly communicate the core messages of existentialism’. In total, 119 people took part in the survey (i.e., gave one or more response). Approximately half were female (n = 57) and half were male (n = 56), with one of other gender. The average age was 47 years old (range 26–89). The participants were primarily distributed across the UK (n = 37), continental Europe (n = 34), North America (n = 24), Australia (n = 15) and Asia (n = 6). Around 90% of the respondents were either qualified therapists (n = 78) or in training (n = 26). Of these, around two-thirds (n = 69) considered themselves existential therapists, and one third (n = 32) did not. There were 235 nominations for the key existential song, with enormous variation across the different respondents.

The aim of this research is to find out the kinds of figure of speech and their meaning of figure of speech in two songs. The writer analyzes songs entitled Bullet in the Head, and No Shelter. In this research, the writer uses qualitative research with descriptive analysis as the method of the research. The writer analyzes the lyrics by reading them intensively and giving attention to each line. After that, the writer tries to explicate the songs by examining the figure of speech. From the two lyrics, the writer has found seven types of figure of speech; they are Simile, Metaphor, Personification, Metonymy, Symbol, Allegory, and Hyperbole. The two lyrics have a similar theme, railed against the corporate America. The first lyrics, Bullet in the Head is a lyric about the songwriter criticizes the TV Corporations and other news corporation distract people from the big issues of the world and influence them to be mass consumerism.
