The Seoul Derby THE SEOUL DERBY PERSONAL EDITION How well do you know Seoul, Korea? Whether you're a traveler or a lifer, you can use this as a template for a fun time in the city. Get ready, set.... N E T THE SEOUL DERBY: PERSONAL EDITION The Seoul Derby is an awesome biannual event in Seoul each year hosted by Hallie Bradley of The Soul of Seoul, but if you can't make it, this is definitely the next best thing. Whether you're on your own or with your family hoping to have some fun while you check all the boxes, or if you have some friends you want to compete against, this is the list for you. How To Play: Read through the list and make sure you know what everything is before you begin. They are in no certain order so you'll want to plot your course first. Make notes in the margin.If you're in teams, you get a point per mission completed. For those missions with multiples like the 5 palaces, you get a point per palace. Give yourself a time limit and then go go go! Korean flags aflutter. NOTES The most famous tower in Seoul. Can you find the "unicorn-lion" that roams? Sewoon Sangga rooftop view of Jongmyo Shrine. Koreans love their side dishes. Get at least 5 in a shot. Have a tea in a traditional tea house. This UFO-like shaped landmark hosts fashion shows. Traditional Korean dresses are all the rage. Wear 1 or get a shot with others in them. Bukchon Hanok Village is beautiful, but can you get a photo of the tiled rooftops from above? There are 8 gates in the Seoul Fortress Wall. How many can you find? How many palaces can you visit this season? Grab a bite in a traditional market and share a shot. This machine will be your friend, it tops off your T-money. This iconic river is a must visit this season. The best vendors sell socks, socks, and more socks. Do you know where to find some K-pop buskers? How many quirky, cool, fun cafes can you visit?     ABSTRACT Title of Document: UNTOLD STORIES: THE OTHER KOREA Grace Pak, Master of Architecture, Spring 2015 Directed By: Professor Garth Rockcastle, Department of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation This thesis explores the dialectical tensions, ironies, and myths of North Korea, with the hope of exposing fallacies and bringing awareness to the crisis of the oppressed citizens of this hermetic country. There are discrepancies between the North Korea that most people know, and one that is lesser known, which contains the everyday stories of real people. The goal is to design a cultural landscape containing the narratives of the persecuted in an effort to promote understanding about a country that is largely misinterpreted because of the images the Kim dictatorship and international media have planted in the minds of many people. The architecture provides a ground for commentary on the truth and what can be done to change the current state of apathy, ignorance, and helplessness. Acts of violation against humanity that continue in North Korea must be stopped. The fact that the North and South must reunite to save the citizens of North Korea is a pressing issue that the South Koreans must genuinely want in order to create change. Gathering information about Korea’s history and attributes of the proposed site will reveal how time changes space, the way our memories and ideas are both temporal and timeless as they are exchanged. Success of three Technician Projects has encouraged the Govt. of India to seek similar financial assistance from World Bank for a systemic transformation of the technical education system as a whole with special focus on overall Quality Improvement in engineering education. Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) Phase-II Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) was envisaged as a long-term programme of about 10-12 years duration to be implemented in 2-3 phases for transformation of the Technical Education System with the World Bank assistance. As per TEQIP design, each phase is required to be designed on the basis of lessons learnt from the implementation of an earlier phase. TEQIP-I started a reform process in 127 Institutions.
