To reach better performance, every hockey player uses also a hockey tape for an adjustment of the stick blade, that changes both the damping properties as well as the friction coefficient of the blade surface. To show the unexpected extent to which these physical properties of the blade affect the shot, we compared two types of blade cover: traditional tape (rolled onto the blade) and a blade sticker that adheres to both sides of the hockey stick blade. We analysed high-speed recordings of two types of shots by 13 players, ranging from amateurs and junior players to NHL superstars. The two covers differ greatly in friction coefficient and stiffness, which results in significantly (more than 99% confidence) greater speed, rotation and energy when using the stiffer and rougher sticker. 1 Introduction Ice hockey sticks have experienced a gradual development in recent decades. Progress in material science allowed the replacement of widely used wood by composite materials that nowadays represent the standard for hockey players worldwide. Broad usage of new materials like aluminium and composites has become an interesting topic for research as well. -

Abstract This work explores norms of dress design by the use of post internet aesthetics in mens underwear. The exploration of underwear is based on methods formed to create a wider concept of how mens underwear could look like regarding shape, color, material and details. Explorations of stereotypical and significant elements of underwear such as graphics and logotypes has been reworked to create a graphical identity bound to a brand. This is made to contextualize the work aiming to present new options and variety in mens underwear rather than stating examples using symbols or stereotypic elements. In the making of the examples for this work the process goes front and back from digital to physical using different media to create compositions of color, graphic designs and outlines using transfer printer, digital print, and laser cutting machine. About three-quarters of preferential imports to Australia enter under devel- oping country preferences, although since 2003 a more generous LDC preference scheme has been in place. The remainder of this appendix provides details and tables to supple- ment the discussion in Chapter 2. Japan Japan’s GSP started in 1971. The current arrangements offer preferential tariff treatment to 141 developing countries, with LDCs being eligible for special preferential treatment (duty and quota free treatment on specified products). GSP treatment is granted to selected agricultural and fishery products (337 items) and industrial products (3,216 items).
