The candidates were assessed keeping in view their competency, legal knowledge and other relevant factors related to the selection of Notary as per requirement of the Notaries Act, 1952, the Notaries Rules, 1956 and the relevant guidelines by the Interview Board constituted for the purpose by the Central Government. On the basis of the performance of the candidates before the Interview Board, the Interview Board has recommended names of the following candidates for appointment as notaries for the State of Odisha. 2. All the successful candidates, whose names appear in the below mentioned list, will be issued Appointment Letters for appointment as Notary. The 25 th meeting of the above Expert Committee was held on 2 nd , 3 rd and 16 th July 2013 under the Chairmanship of Ms. Arvind Manjeet Singh, Joint Secretary to consider the proposals for financial assistance under CFGS. A list of the members who attended the meeting is annexed. 2. The Expert Committee considered 531 applications and which were complete and supported with all documents as required under the Scheme. The Committee examined each and every proposal individually before taking decision and recommended the following 264 proposals tabulated below for financial assistance under the scheme. The committee further recommeded that the organizations who have already conducted the programme/festivals/ Seminar/exhibitions etc. as submitted by them in project proposal, (marked * in the table) the expert committee has recommended the grant subject to the condition that the amount will be released after submission of the proof of the event having taken place within 40 days of the Minutes uploaded on website of the Ministry indiaculture.nic.in . SCHOLAR, P.G.DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY BERHAMPUR UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT At the beginning of the twentiethcentury, the National movement against the British Government Organised by the Congressparty gained momentum in British India. But its impact on theGarjat States of Odisha feeble at the initial state. This movement was due to an iron-curtain put by the oppressive rulers'conditions and the ruthless efforts to stop the infiltration of the Congress movement's idea. In due course, it had its profound effect in the Garjat movement when there was the growth of consciousness among the state's people. The people of the state, being inspired by nationalism, fought against their respective ruler's oppressive rule. The people in these states fought by forming the association of the people. BrajaKishorDhallwas born a leader of men whose lifetime contribution for Dhenkanal during the pre and post-independent years left an indelible mark in people's memory. He was one among such leaders who have dedicated their lives in a relentless struggle against the oppressive and injustice of the ruling chiefs of theGarjatstates. This study aims to highlight the contribution of BrajaKishorDhall in the DhenkanalGarjat movement. This paper highlights the miserable condition of women. To establish the theory, primary and secondary sources may be consulted and interpreted judiciously.   • India's Princely States
    India’s Princely States This book reassesses the place of the Indian princely states within the history of South Asia and weaves together hitherto uncharted areas. It employs a multi-disciplinary approach and critiques some of the received paradigms of conventional historiography about Princely India, leading the reader into new realms of discussion such as literary constructions, aspects of political economy and legitimacy, military collaborations, gender issues, peasant movements, health policies and the mechanisms for controlling and integrating the states. The contributors focus on a range of states in different regions and base their analyses on hitherto unused or underused archival sources. The collection will appeal to scholars of South Asia and students of transnational histories, cultural and racial studies, international politics, economic history and social history of health and medicine. Waltraud Ernst is Professor in the History of Medicine at Oxford Brookes University, UK. She has published widely on the history of mental illness in South Asia. Her publications include Mad Tales from the Raj (1991); Race, Science and Medicine (co-edited with B.J. Harris, 1999); Plural Medicine, Tradition and Modernity (ed., 2002) and The Normal and the Abnormal (ed., 2006). She is currently completing a book on ‘Mental Illness and Colonialism’ and is engaged in a collaborative research project on ‘Colonial Medicine and Indigenous Health Practices in Southern and Eastern Princely States of India, c.1880–1960’. Biswamoy Pati is Reader in the Department of History, Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University, India. His research interests focus on colonial Indian social history.
