Thanks for making the trip to South Carolina for Sandblast Rally! There has never been a better time for racing in South Carolina! New competitors have joined the sport for the 2015 racing season and our volunteer base is filled with new people and great ideas. For a couple years now Sandblast Rally has the largest entry count in the country! This year's schedule includes the fun roads that you know and love with the return of the new timing system equipment – the NASA Rally Sport Nook clocks and online scoring system will be used at the rally this year. Despite lengthening days in early spring, teams should be prepared to run our sandy stages at night, too! Traditionally, Sandblast Rally has served the club-man level competitor and this is still our philosophy. It remains the most affordable event on the East Coast with Jemba stage notes! Our documentation is top-notch and we encourage you to read the Rally Guide for all the local need-to-know details. Our volunteers are friendly – many come from the local communities. Feel free to ask questions as you prepare for the event and arrive in South Carolina. -

Representations of Female Adolescence in the Teen Makeover Film By Kendra Marston A Thesis Submitted to the Victoria University of Wellington in Fulfilment of the Requirements for a Degree of Master of Arts in Film Victoria University of Wellington 2010 Abstract This thesis proposes to analyse the representation of female adolescence in the contemporary teen makeover film. The study will situate this body of films within the context of the current postfeminist age, which I will argue has bred specific fears both of and for the female adolescent. This thesis will examine the construction of the initial wayward makeover protagonist, paying attention to why she needs to be trained in an idealised gender performance that has as its urgent goal the assurance of heteronormativity and ‘healthy’ sex role power relations. I will also analyse the representation of deviant adolescent female characters in terms of how their particular brand of postfeminist female masquerade masks a power and status-oriented agenda. Edible Plagiarism: Reconsidering Recipe Copyright in the Digital Age ABSTRACT Sharing recipes through food blogs is an increasingly popular activity. Bloggers publish their own recipes, claiming copyright protection, but they also publish others' recipes. Food publishers who distribute recipes online may be harmed when bloggers include the entire text of the food publisher's recipe on a blog without the publisher's knowledge or permission. The blogger's inclusion of an entire recipe often reduces site traffic to the food publisher's website, thereby damaging advertising revenues. Copyright law, as courts interpret it today, does not provide these publishers with recourse against bloggers who publish their recipes without permission. This Note analyzes the various issues related to the copyrightability of recipes, beginning with the current rule on copyright protection for recipes. -
