Initially, the site offered gift services in Hubli-Dharwad, Belgaum and a few other cities. She also runs the web portal Clickroses.com, an e-shopping site and gifting service. The firm now has 12 e-commerce portals and a network of florists and bakers across the country through which it delivers gifts and flowers. The site also provides information on Kasuti, the traditional form of embroidery typical of north Karnataka, and undertakes the responsibility of booking and delivering saris and dress material with Kasuti work. This activity has provided employment to rural kasuti artisans. With 13 years' experience in Web designing and development, Ms.Deepali Gotadke and her team have so far designed and developed more than 600 websites for various clients, including some government agencies such as the Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC), the Hubli Dharwad Police Commissionerate and North-west Karnataka Road Transport Corporation, South west railway etc. And if that's not enterprising enough, she has also helped the Hubli-Dharwad police in solving a cyber crime case on the misuse of credit cards on e-commerce sites in December 2009 and is also on the IT advisory committee of the HDMC.     DOI: 10.5958/2349-4433.2015.00042.2 Revival of Kasuti Embroidery Motifs in Knitted Kurties Through Computer Aided Designs K Kaur* and D Kaur ** Department of Apparel and Textile Science, College of Home Science Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana-141 004 (Punjab) ABSTRACT The investigation entitled Knitwear product development using kasuti embroidery motifs was carried out in Ludhiana city. For the selection of motifs and colour combinations panel of judges comprising faculty of College of Home Science, PAU, Ludhiana was selected. Three colleges in the city namely Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town; Khalsa College for Women, Ghumar Mandi and College of Home Science, PAU were selected for studying the preferences for the preparation of kurti. Traditional motifs of kasuti embroidery were selected, plates were developed through Corel Draw 13 and shown to 10 panel of judges. After the selection of motifs, three colour combinations of each motif were developed and again shown to 20 judges to finalize the 10 colour combinations of the 10 selected motifs for the development of design. After that two different design placements were prepared of the 10 most preferred motifs and their colour combinations. An interview schedule was prepared for the purpose of collecting data from 80 female respondents between the age group of 20 to 30 years selected randomly from three colleges of Ludhiana city. The results of the study revealed that majority of the respondents were graduates, belonging to nuclear families. Seventy per cent of the respondents were aware of knitwear designs and 51.3 per cent aware of kasuti embroidery and 70 per cent respondents preferred to buy knitwear kurtis.

Topeteniseragu and kondi techniques are the unique factors of Ilkal saree. The strength and magnificence of the Ilkal sarees makes it one of the favourites among women. The present study aims at revival of traditional IIkal sarees with two concepts. First one is to weave a kasutinegi motif in Ilkalsaree and second one is to introduce regenerated cellulose yarns in weaving Ilkalsaree. The kasuti motifs are being woven into Ilkal sarees with jacquard setup using extra set of weft yarns. Rattan Karnataka is the word given to denote six hundred categories of palms. Rattan has slender stems with a vine like structure, Craft of Making Cane Products growing over other floras. The various types of rattan ranges from few centimeters upto a diameter of 5 cm and by 7cm. Cane falls under the categories of tall, perennial grasses with flexible wood textures from the plant family Prof. Bibhudutta Baral,Divyadarshan C. The various qualities of cane from suppleness, strength to its Manmi Dutta durability and bendable properties has made cane useful for many purposes. Assistant Professor, Department of Geography Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, Karntaka State Abstract: A geographical indication (GIs) acts as a mechanism that benefits producers to distinguish their products from competing products in the market and allows producers to build a reputation and helpfulness around their products that will procure a best value. Each and every product of the region on the earth originated with its own geographical soil and has its own characteristics. Karnataka is one among the country witnessed varied geographical condition with varied physiography. It has coastal area, Western Ghats with tropical evergreen forest and undulating plateau. Similarly it has different types of soil from laterite soil in Western Ghats to red and black soil in plateau region and alluvial soil near delta regions. Due to its varied physiography variety of crops are grown in different areas and wide variety of products are manufactured in the region. Introduction: Geographical Indications (GI) is an IPR which provides the recognition and protection to community for well-known, place specific natural or man-made products as the goods as per sec 2(f) of the GI Act 1999 by GI Registry in India(Agrawal & Kumar, 2016). In the recent past, geographical indications (GIs) have emerged as a significant intellectual property rights issue in the Indian context. Since 15 September 2003, when the Indian GI Act came into force, more than a hundred Indian products have been registered as GIs.(Das, 2010).
