A geographical indication (GI) is a sign used on products having a particular geographical origin and having qualities or a reputation due to that origin. You might have heard about copyright, patent, trademark, etc. which are rights of intellectual property. Geographical Indication Tag provides holders with similar rights and protection. Darjeeling tea was the first product to be given a GI tag in India. The Geographical Indications of Goods Act was enacted by India in 1999. Why GI tag? India enacted the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration & Protection) Act 1999 as a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), that entered into force with effect from 15 September 2003. It supports local production and helps in mainstreaming and upliftment of the rural and the tribal communities. These GI tags must not be confused with IPR. GI is a collective right, unlike IPRs which grants protection to individual interest. India has registered 236 GI products so far and more than 270 more have applied for the label GI recently got a logo and a tagline given by the Commerce and Industry Minister to increase the awareness about the IPRs in the country. Abstract: Bidar district is the home of the Bidriware industry and the very name Bidri is derived from Bidar. This craft was introduced in Bidar during the rule of Bahmanis. Towards the end of the Baridi dynasty in Bidar this craft reached its zenith and a number of outstanding specimens were produced which today enrich some museums in India and abroad. The basic materials required in Bidri industry are zinc, copper, silver and a particle type of earth. The process of production may be divided into four main stages viz. casting, engraving, inlaying and oxidizing.There are five main types of inlay for ornamenting Bidriware objects. The Bidricraft will be marketed through global media. For improving the life of Bidri artisans and for conservation as well as preservation of Bidriware scientific and technical study of Bidriware is a need of modern time. This paper will be beneficial to artists, historians, researchers, marketing agencies, government and policy makers along with scientist.Through technological help preservation and propaganda about art is also possible . Lastly, it is the work of the researcher to focus on scientific and technical thinking of art for it conservation and preservation of art. This fund was released by Give2Asia through the Deshpande Foundation, who monitored the programme throughout the funded period of April, 2010 to March 31, 2011. By linking artisan clusters with markets, Kai Krafts both ensures that the artisans are paid fair wages for their hard work and that these crafts endure. The materials were characterized during sali season of and Genetics, Assam 2015-16 at the Instruction-cum-Research (ICR), Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat using Agricultural University, Jorhat, Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. Analysis of variance revealed the existence of Assam, India significant differences among the genotypes for all the traits under both inorganic and organic cultures. Among all the characters, panicle weight, grains/panicle, 1000-grain weight, grain yield/plant, straw Rumjum Goswami Phukon yield/plant and harvest index exhibited moderate to high estimates of the genotypic coefficient of Department of Plant Breeding variation (GCV) and phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) were recorded under organic and and Genetics, Assam inorganic culture. Also, high estimates of heritability were recorded for days to first flowering, days to Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam, India 50% flowering, plant height, grains/panicle, 1000-grain weight, and harvest index. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance was observed only for 1000-grain weight under both the cultures. -
