The Orchards and Margaret Marsh Parish Council Electors’ rights statement under Regulation 15(2)(b) of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 Notice of the electors’ rights in relation to the statement of accounts of The Orchards and Margaret Marsh Parish Council for the financial year ended 31st March 2018 Rights to inspect the statement of accounts and accounting records Sections 25 and 26 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (‘the Act’) provide local government electors with the right to inspect and make copies of the statement of accounts, accounting records and all documents relating to those records, for the financial year ended 31st March 2016. In accordance with Regulation 15(2) of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, the Rights to inspect the accounts and relevant accounting records can be arranged by informing Parish Clerk, Philip Knott, of your intention to exercise your rights. These rights may be exercised from 25th June 2018 to 6th August 2018 by prior arrangement with the Parish Clerk Email [email protected] or telephone 01963 365852 Rights to question the auditor and to make objections at audit Under section 26 of the Act, a local government elector may question the auditor about the accounting records for the financial year ended 31 March 2016 and, under section 27 of the Act, a local government elector may make an objection to the auditor which either concerns a matter in respect of which the auditor could make a public interest report under section 24 of the Act; or concerns an item of account in respect of which the auditor could apply for a declaration that the item is unlawful under section 28 of the Act. Exercise of Rights These rights may be exercised from 25th June 2018 to 6th August 2018. THE ORCHARDS & MARGARET MARSH PARISH COUNCIL MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD AT MANSTON VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 19th MAY 2015 STARTING AT 7PM Present: Cllr Mrs L Stranger (Chairman), Cllr B Dawe-Lane, Cllr Mrs V Stokes, and Cllr T Craven. In attendance:- P Knott (Clerk). District Cllrs Mrs J Westbrook and C Dowden. County Cllr A Cattaway and one member of the public Apologies: Cllr M Bone 1. Approval of minutes for 2014 meeting-The minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on the 26th May 2014, were confirmed as a true record, and signed by the Chair. There were no matters arising from the minutes. 2. Chairman’s Report- Cllr Mrs Stranger presented the following report- Four Parish Council meetings have been held during the past year. The expenditure budget for the Financial Year 2015-2016 was set at the November meeting at £1,745.00p a reduction of £270-00p on the previous year achieved by the Clerks Salary budget by £100-00p and removing the one off budget of £180-00p for the refurbishment of the telephone box at West Orchard. No contingency figure has been included, for the Financial Year 2015-2016, as there are sufficient funds in the general reserves to cover any unforeseen expenditure. Planning applications considered during the year included the erection of a single storey extension and installation of nine photo-voltaic panels at Church Cottage, Parsons Lane, Hartgrove. The erection of a 3.5 bay detached garage at Great House Farm, East Orchard, erection of a two-storey extension at Wellbeck Cottage, Marnhull Road, Margaret Marsh.

The Villager Villager No. 254 July 2016 The next copy date will be 19th August with anticipated delivery during week of 5th September , the following will be 7th October for 24th October delivery Moviola takes a rest through the summer but will be back with more great films to enjoy. Lots of our clubs also break during the summer but W. I. and Gardening Club carry on all year round. Great to see some many actors and actresses in Motcombe - do try and pop along to see Abigail’s Party - the scenery certainly brings back memories of the 70’s!! We are a bit concerned that people in the local community are not aware of the proposed changes to the status of the Westminster Memorial Hospital. This is our local community hospital serving Shaftesbury, Gillingham and the surrounding areas. It provides inpatient facilities providing rehabilitation and palliative care for local patients. There is a dedicated nursing and therapy team providing personalised care to sometimes the most vulnerable in our community. The clinical commissioning group are proposing the closure of these inpatient beds and the public need to be well informed. Allistair served on the Parish Council for over eleven years as both a Councillor and Chairman. He was a larger-than-life character with a commanding presence, he used both humour and firmness to keep council meetings under control and working to time. Born in Herefordshire he was however a proud Orcadian, returning to Orkney as often as he could with his wife Anita.

Calves (86) Auctioneer Ian Tanner Trade: A generally good show of calves, trade outstanding with all breeds considerably dearer, nice to report Native heifers advancing on price! More needed particularly the best forward calves which are very short on the ground, don’t forget our averages included everything sold! Continental x Bulls sailing to £305 for a Charolais from Messrs Doggrell, better bulls £290 plus, medium £240 plus, only the small less, heifers met a fantastic trade topping at £226 for a British Blue from Andy Roberts, better heifers £200 plus, mediums the trade of the day from £170-£200, more best end urgently needed to meet demand. Native x what a trade, Aberdeen Angus bulls average £206! Peter Baxandall tops at £280 on four occasions, better end £230 plus, medium types £160-£200, smaller end the dearest from £100-£140. We can handle them! Heifers top at £182 again from Peter Baxandall, better end easy to sell £120 plus, medium end £90-£110, look incredibly well sold, smaller end all £70 upwards. Trade as good as our averages show for all grades of calves. Dairy x very few, selling to £61 from Messrs Hannam. All calves wanted, why not try us!
