Fighting and dancing games both emerge from Asia, and they both foreground the body. They strip down bodily movement into elemental actions like stepping, kicking, leaping, and tapping, and make these the form and content of the game. I argue that fighting and dancing games point to a key dynamic in videogame play: the programming of the body into the algorithmic logic of the game, a logic that increasingly organizes the informatic structure of everyday work and leisure in a globally interconnected information economy.

  • I Am Bruce Lee'
Adam Scorgie Screens 'I Am Bruce Lee' Adam Scorgie and Shannon Lee Kelowna filmmaker Adam Scorgie made his mark on the film industry with the groundbreaking 2007 documentary, The Union: The Business Behind Getting High. Scorgie wrote the film, and served as the movie’s producer and executive producer. Five years later, The Union is still making waves and is even about to be used by the Parliament of Canada. More on that later. Scorgie recently finished work on the Bruce Lee documentary aptly titled “I Am Bruce Lee,” which gets its premiere Kelowna screening this Saturday at the Grand 10 Theatre. The one-time-only screening is at 3:50 pm, and you can get your tickets at the box office. But get them fast, as Scorgie has a great track record for selling out Kelowna screenings of his films. “At first, we weren’t even on the list of Canadian cities for screenings,” he says. “When I looked at the tour list, I said ‘What, no Kelowna?’ I called the distributor and said ‘You have to do Kelowna, it’s always shown me great support. I guarantee you guys a sellout screening.’ They set it up and now there’s already 60-70 people looking to get tickets right away, and they only went on sale last night. It will very likely sell out.” Scorgie’s role on the Bruce Lee documentary was a big change for the Kelowna resident, and he explains what he brought to the table and how it differed from his work on The Union.

  • On Bruce Lee Blas Moros
On Bruce Lee Blas Moros Email: [email protected] Blog: blas.com Intro The hope is that this “teacher’s reference guide” provides some color on Bruce Lee, his philosophy and his contributions to acting and the martial arts. Bruce was a deep, multi-disciplinary and independent thinker who challenged dogma because he believed it made people rigid and stagnant. Bruce espoused a more open, growing and adaptive mindset which allows one to continuously learn and react appropriately to whatever the situation calls for. Another central tenet to his philosophy was the importance of honest self-expression. Bruce stressed that striving for self- actualization rather than self-image actualization is vital to foster peace of mind as well as a happy, fulfilling and successful life. His incredible contributions to martial art, acting and philosophy has been fascinating to learn about and his life serves as a template for pursuing mastery in any field. Please note that this guide is something I plan to update, iterate, improve and expand upon over time. There are surely flaws throughout and parts which true experts would disagree with. I welcome any questions, comments and corrections in this quest to better understand Bruce Lee! Bruce Lee, the Man Bruce Lee was born on November 27, 1940 in San Francisco’s Chinatown during both the hour and the year of the Dragon. His father was a famous opera singer and his mother was from one of the most powerful clans in Hong Kong. Bruce was a child actor from a very early age, starring in many movies before his 18th birthday.
