All the APM board members would like to warmly thank all the volunteers, supporters and sponsors who helped make 2018 yet another successful year. We count on your continuing support in 2019, which will be another milestone for us : our 20th anniversary ! The APM Board Our Strategy - Up-close and personal APM actively seeks out projects through personal exchanges and recommandations. Contact is maintained throughout the year with project leaders in the field, to ensure that the projects are both well-founded and durable. This close involvement, along with continual assessment of our diverse projects, allows APM to assist and support our various beneficiaries as needed. - Listening and adapting Whenever possible we apply « push » rather than « pull » tactics ; adapting to the particular needs of each project rather than making large indiscriminate donations. The volunteers at APM prepare boxes of clothes for specific underprivileged families. Monetary donations go directly to finance projected budgets which are closely monitored. Shanghai Young Bakers (SYB) in Shanghai SYB is a charity program that provides a high-quality training in French bakery and pastry skills to under-privileged Chinese youth, enabling them to find stable, qualified jobs and lead independent lives. There are around 30 students per yearly intake. The training lasts one year and includes French bakery & pastry, Chinese-style Western bakery, life skills, English language lessons, outings, and a part-time internship at 4 or 5 star international hotels.
