    STRESSTECH BULLETIN 11 Residual stress measurement of a crankshaft Need for Residual Stress Measurements Residual stress measurement is one essential way to find out if the component can withstand the demanding load and stress conditions in its service life. The possibility of distortion of the component during storage or in service life can also be checked by measuring the residual stresses. In fact, measurement is the only way to find the sign and magnitude of residual stresses. Measurement of residual stresses is also useful for quality control purposes and verification of processes such as surface hardening, heat treatment, machining... Text: Murat Deveci, Figures: Stresstech For some dynamically loaded critical components such as crankshafts, residual stress measurements are often made for various analyses. The photo on the right shows a residual stress measurement of a crankshaft. In this example, an external axis is included to the system to rotate the crankshaft during the measurement process thus giving the robot even more accessible space for measurements. With the rotating axis, the Xstress Robot system can access e.g. every side of the shaft. Rotating units are an excellent choice in highly automated applications. María del Pilar Paleta Vázquez ABRIL 2013 La reconquista El reinado de los reyes católicos La invasión napoleónica La Primera República Las primeras intervenciones públicas en la vida cultural, más allá del mecenazgo de la Corona, se inician en España en el siglo XVIII. El espíritu ilustrado que rodea a los monarcas de la nueva dinastía borbona inspira la puesta en marcha de grandes instituciones culturales (Reales Academias, Biblioteca Real y Teatro Real). Gran parte del siglo XIX está dominado por el proceso desamortizador que supuso la expropiación y venta de propiedades pertenecientes a la Iglesia, la Corona, la nobleza y los municipios. Con el objetivo de paliar la dispersión o destrucción de este patrimonio se crearon las Comisiones Científicas y Artísticas provinciales. Algunos de los primeros museos arqueológicos, archivos y bibliotecas provinciales se nutrieron de bienes desamortizados. En 1915 se crea la Dirección General de Bellas Artes. A partir de este momento, empieza una intervención continua de protección patrimonial: q Legislación de excavaciones arqueológicas. q Protección de monumentos. q Redacción de un Catálogo Monumental y Artístico. La Segunda República realiza un notable esfuerzo educativo y cultural. Hace reformas a las Leyes de protección del Tesoro Artístico. Asimismo, establece una red de archivos nacionales. Crea el Museo de Arte Moderno y reconoce la diversidad cultural y lingüística de España. El triunfo del bando nacional en la guerra civil dio paso a la dictadura del general Franco. El nuevo régimen se caracterizó por el control y la intervención autoritaria de la vida cultural.

    A UNESCO Safari in Iberia or In Search of a Yelow Tot I didn’t think it would be so hard. It all started in Catania, Sicily, about 6 weeks ago where I saw it first. A butter-yellow purse, large enough to function as a tote, the perfect-size-three-in-one- with an inner bag that is so practical. A man at the open market around the corner from my hotel holds it up -- “15 Euro” he shouts. A good price. But you never take the asking price at a street market. “12” I shout back. He shakes his head “no”, so I keep on walking......... and thinking about that tote. It soon starts to sprinkle and vendors start packing up. I then decide that, yes, I want it. So I double back but he is already gone - along with the magnificent, must-have-yellow-tote. In major cities of Europe it seems that African men (mostly from Senegal) seem to have dibs on selling purses and totes in street markets. Much of the goods are copies. And we all know that you can’t buy a Louis Vuitton or Michael Kors on the street for 15 euro. But some of their products are fun pieces and aren’t bad -- and make great tote- bags. They are well-designed, never leather, but “pleather” (leather looking plastic) and are fun to shop for, bargain (to the death, of course) and buy. So at all our stops, I ask our drivers where the Africans with the purses hang out. They all know where they are.

This type of events is key element in the construction of the World Heritage Sites (Unesco) brands. The new role of tourists as proactive users and the engagement generated towards the destination management organization are decisive elements for the online reputation management of territories. The monitoring of events let us evaluate the participation and interaction of tourist users in platforms 2.0. The aim of this research is to analyze the engagement (global, positive and negative) of events 2.0 integrated into the marketing strategy of the 40 World Cultural Heritage Sites in Spain on Facebook and Twi- tter.
