We recommend that you contact your orthodontist to discuss your mouth guard options. Boys Volleyball The boys volleyball team opened the season up on the road on Monday 3/18 at Elk Grove. We started the season off with a solid victory. We won the match 25-16 25-13. Leading the way was Captain Thomas Cavallaro running the offense and setting for 24 assists with 2 blocks and 2 kills. On the offense everyone was able to chip in a handful of kills Senior Jack Shampine had 10 kills and 4 blocks, Senior and Tri-Captain Joe Masloski had 5 kills and our third Captain Will Langas also added 4 kills. Rounding out the starting rotation were seniors Colin Roy and Connor MItchell and new to the Varsity is Sophmore starter Middle Blocker Kyle Busiel. On Wednesday the boys headed over to Maine West for a match up with the Warriors. The Titans got off to a rocky start but recovered to get the second win of the season 22-25, 26-24, and 25-16. Thomas Cavallaro ran the offense again and set the guys for 25 assists. Jack Shampine had 13 kills on the night and stepping in to the line up to pick us up was senior Stephen Daus who had 4 kills on the night. The volleyball team opens the home schedule after spring break on Wednesday 4/3 against Lincoln-Way Central at 6:00pm in the Dome. The following night the Titans will face off with GBN at North for the 6 annual Battle for the Cure. The teams will be fundraising to raise funds for Pediatric Cancer Research. Boys Gymnastics Glenbrook South varsity and freshmen teams beat Maine East this Tuesday. Senior Dante Kelekolio won the all-around. Girls Water Polo Girls Water Polo beat Niles West last week, 13 - 4. Girls Lacrosse Varsity Girls Lacrosse defeated Lyons Township Tuesday night at their home opener, 22-8 and conference foe, Maine South, 17-6 Thursday night. The teams heads into their spring break trip to California 3-0. Senior, Greer Bireley, broke the Glenbrook South scoring record Thursday night, with 200 career goals, on her second goal for the evening. Good luck in San Diego! Boys & Girls Track The Boys and Girls Track and Field teams sent 8 athletes to Illinois Wesleyan University to compete in the Illinois Top Times Invite. 5 of the 8 athletes medaled by placing in the top 8! Rae Lynn Roberson placed 2nd in the Long Jump, Will Houser placed 4th in the 800 Meter Run, Sydney Willits placed 4th in the Triple Jump, Taylor Ozimek placed 5th in the High Jump and Dimitri Manesiotis placed 7th in the Shot Put. Kate Jortberg (3200 Meter Run), Lauren Hayes (800 Meter Run) and Abbey Millot (High Jump) also represented Glenbrook South! Congrats on a great indoor season! Baseball Baseball opened the season with a couple close losses to St. Patrick, 9- 7, and Lockport, 3-1. On Tuesday, the Titans leave for Tennessee and their spring break trip. Five games in 4 days in the Nashville area coming up. Good luck! Girls Soccer Windy City Classic Champions! Final score GBS 2 - Lincoln-Way West 1. Goals scored by Julia DiSano and Libbie Vanderveen. Both assists by Makayla Stadler. Titans improve to 7-0. Time to rest during Spring Break! Glenbrook United Basketball Congrats to all GU/Wolves basketball teams competing at Illinois Wesleyan and Illinois State University this weekend 3-15-3/17. Current GBS students and 8th graders with sailing experience who plan to attend GBS in the Fall can race with the team this Spring. The Club practices MWFs in Lake Forest and compete in regattas on the weekends. The Club sails on Lake Michigan and many of their regattas are in the Chicago area.
